waste of time. Best in Computers & Accessories

Well, not much to say about that. I bought this docking station for my ThinkPad W541. I connected the video cables and power adapter, docked the laptop, pressed the power button and nothing. And the moral of this story is this. Doesn't work, plain and simple. So back to the box and off to the UPS store.

Better not work directly on a laptop keyboard with a .

Very weak and unstable docking station. It is better not to work directly on the laptop keyboard with this docking station. I used to have IBM Thinkpad and Lenovo docking stations. I'm surprised Lenovo is even selling something this low. I use this dock with the latest Thinkpad T460s from Lenovo.

Precaution - Notebook Accessories

There are some problems. Lenovo definitely didn't do all the homework here. Make sure you update the firmware otherwise it won't work for you at all. Even if you can connect three monitors to it, you cannot connect additional USB devices or all monitors will flicker after a while. Although they seem to return after a few moments, it's annoying. I didn't have this problem with two monitors.

If the thing would work stably, it would be great. Unfortunately I have problems on a daily basis

If this thing worked consistently it would be amazing. Unfortunately I have problems every day. It's having trouble waking up my laptop. Sometimes it works perfectly. Sometimes I have to turn off the power and take the laptop out of the docking station multiple times. It does not work with two monitors connected via DisplayPort. When two are connected, one keeps disconnecting, so I have to resort to HDMI and DisplayPort. The main reason for this is that you can connect external displays. If…

Convenient way to connect multiple peripherals; Poor design blocks vent

Before I bought this docking station I needed two things; a second travel power pack and a USB hub for connecting all peripheral devices (two printers, scanner, DVD and hard drive). The USB extension is great. The included AC adapter stays plugged in, while the AC adapter that came with your ThinkPad stays in your computer bag. The back of the Ultra Dock protrudes 3/4" from the back of the ThinkPad (about 3/4" even with the extended battery), and it takes about 3" more to connect the video…
