Amazing value

I've been using a Thinkpad for decades. There are certain aspects of a brand that just work for me. The matte black plastic looks good years later, the chunky look is durable and timeless, the keyboard is almost always very comfortable and easy to type on, even on a plane, and those docks. This dock is very similar to the one I had for my IBM built Thinkpad 15 years ago. I use it with a couple of my T440 laptops, cheap old laptops with great keyboards that you can buy refurbished. Although it's

Supports 2 x 24 inch 4K monitors + laptop screen

I actually bought this to support an extra (3rd) monitor. I have a T440p with Intel HD Graphics 4600 and I have seen that this dock can support 2 external 4k monitors in addition to the laptop screen. It was a bit tricky to set up as the display settings under Panel Control (Win10) doesn't recognize the 3rd monitor. I had to go into the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel on the Multiple Displays page to enable the 3rd. After that I was able to access all 3 monitors via the control panel. A few…

Hammer deal, all features work under Linux

tl;dr: • Multi-monitor runs under Linux • 75-85% discount makes it a hammer deal • Lenovo is making the power adapter cheaper, but that is OK. I got this thing because it's compatible with my personal laptop which, despite having a Thunderbolt port, doesn't support my existing TB3 docking stations. (I think it's the lack of PCI-E bandwidth; my TB docks have two 4k ports and my laptop's TB3 line only has 2x.) My first complaint about this thing is that it doesn't really come with a Power supply…

Pros
  • 3x USB 2.0 and 3x USB 3.0
Cons
  • I'm silent
