I'll tell you where this helps the most and thats not having to check the temperature every few minutes. Fries great with little oil. Won't do large batches, as it is small. The cover works, but the latch system is rather clumsy. You have to convert your frying temps to Celsius as that is the default on the thermometer. Cannot be put in dishwasher. But as a single person, it works great for me.

It will probably do what is advertised as, but had I known how cheaply made it is I would never have paid even half that for it. Very thin metal, like cardstock thin. Be aware, that's what you are buying.

I was expecting a heavy pot with a neat lid feature that made frying small items easier. What I got was a pretty, round pot with a thermometer attached with a cumbersome lid.This is a boil eggs or warm up soup kind of pot. Not what I would use for frying but some might. I could easily find a pot like this at a discount store minus the lid. For me, this is not for serious cooking. It's cute tho.

We don't do a lot of deep frying in our household because of how much oil is needed to do so. When I got this pot I was impressed by the looks. It was small and I felt just right for my frying needs. This was until I read the full description and it said that I could only fry two types of food in it.

P.O.S. .DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITE. Instruction manual is 4 pages of potential hazards and "dont do this" warnings. Super light weight flimsy material. I have used cheaper aluminum camping cookpots made better and apparently safer.

I purchased- and returned- a pricey, electric one that was too big and too complicated.This does what it's supposed to and does it simply and well.The thermometer was not accurate, however. It shows a temperature even before I used it, and not ambient.
