Very impressive! in Tires & Wheels

I used the Autosock for the first time last week and was VERY impressed with its performance. I was done, and at about the same time another motorist, who had already jacked up his car when I pulled up behind him, put on his first chains. In the next few days I drove through the city and the people in the city were amazed and asked questions about the product. I then ordered another set for the second machine. I'm really impressed with this product and how it holds up to abuse that seasonal…

Pros
  • Lightweight and easy to store, reusable and machine washable
Cons
  • No Auto

It took a bit of trial and error and it's not as easy as shown in the videos

Had to drive up a steep road that required chains or traction tyres. It took my boyfriend and I about 15 minutes to put them on and 10 to take them off. It took a bit of trial and error and wasn't as easy as the video shows, but I think next time I get familiar with them it will take a little less time. I love that I can stow it in the trunk on top of the spare wheel and have it there when I need it.

Pros
  • Approved by TÜV SÜD and top car manufacturers
Cons
  • Minor issues

It was a waste of money. I got them because my Chevy Volt said I couldn't use chains. I liked the following: 1) easy to put on. Here's what was bad: 1) They had less grip in the snow than my stock tires. It was like wrapping a strip of smooth carpet around my tire; 2) Don't leave your autosocks on when the car is parked outside - this means you have to take them off when you park your car. If you leave them on, they turn into blocks of ice around your tires; 3) They are really difficult to take

Pros
  • Can be used with alloy wheels - although metal chains are not allowed, works on all vehicles with close clearance between tires and body
Cons
  • Operating speed

Autosock brought me home!

I picked her up for the rare time it snows here in Portland, Oregon. We recently had the fifth biggest snowfall in history. Put these perfect car socks on my 18 inch less than normal wheel arch spacing alloy wheels. I have a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 with manual transmission. A heated garage was used for the installation, very easy compared to cables or chains. I ventured into a hilly area with ice and snow (see pictures). To be honest, I was very impressed with the traction. At first I was skeptical…

Pros
  • wheel size: 175/75R15; 175/80R14; 185/70R15; 185/80R14; 195/60R16; 195/65R15; 195/65R16; 195/70R14; 195/70R15; 195/75R14; 205/45R17; 205/50R17; 205/55R16; 205/55R17; 205/60R15; 205/60R16; 205/65R14; 205/65R15; 205/70R14;
Cons
  • Nothing here

They seem to work

They seem to work. They fit my 2015 Mazda 3 very well. We had snow on the roads for about a week and they arrived yesterday just as it was starting to melt. The roads were a mixture of pack ice, slush and damp. I was a little apprehensive about riding them in mixed conditions, especially cleared areas with wet tarmac, but I later took them off and they proved intact. They were easy to put on and take off. I'm still a little worried about durability but yesterday they seem to have done the job.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Protection
