Water cannot be sucked in through a straw!

Absolutely unusable. I'm so angry I spent my money on this thing. I took it with me on trips abroad, knowing I would be visiting areas where clean water could be an issue. When I got back from the trip it was too late to go back. I understand that the water has to go through a rigorous filtering process and therefore the flow of water through the straw can be reduced. But no matter how hard I sucked on that stupid thing, I could barely get any water out. I've tried gently biting the tip like…

Try this if you're having trouble drawing water through a straw

I've noticed mixed reviews about how easy it is to draw water through a straw. Some users say it's not that bad, others say it's very difficult. When I received my bottle I fell into the latter category. My face hurt after a few sips. If you remove the charcoal filter from the top at all, it's very easy to draw water through the straw. Filter fails when not in use

So I'm testing some water purification methods for a hike I'm leading around TRT next year. This bottle is my first experiment and I received it yesterday. Today I opened a bottle of LifeStraw Go, read all the directions and followed them to the letter. I'll admit I'm nervous as this filter isn't good enough to filter viruses like the big LifeStraw filters and some other water bottle brands. Therefore, without this possibility, I would not rate a bottle with more than 4 stars. Anyway, I stopped
