Tried them with LED backlight and after 5 minutes of use the screw that adjusts the bracket broke. This might work if you just want a very bright bulb in them, but be warned they're cheap and won't last long.

I bought these to replace the ones that came with the lighting kit which didn't last very long. These seem to be much better built and both work great as expected so I'll update if anything changes. but now they seem great and i am very happy with them.

Light, cheap and the job gets done. For a photographer on a budget (and someone who is also a student) they allow me to have the gear I need with minimal bulk. My problem is that one broke on the second use and decided not to turn it on for no reason

Exactly what I expected, they work well and at a great price! They're clearly not top-notch, there are a few rough marks from the molding, but the socket and switch appear solid, match my lighting stands well and work great with a pair of 75w LED bulbs. Amazing deal for the price. Definitely recommend/buy.

The lamp holder is made of plastic and may melt if exposed to hot light. The umbrella holder might fit a small umbrella but when I tried it with a 40 inch umbrella it was too flimsy and almost broke. Overall they are very cheap as the price would suggest, but they work with CFL bulbs. I've bought them in the past and the quality of the last batch has gone down.

The thread on the cartridge is very soft plastic. (Although some of the product photos on the site show metal.) This means it's easy to remove the threads, or worse, it broke one of my bulbs because the bulb's base was wedged into the plastic so tight that I she unscrewed the light, the base was plugged into the socket. Because of these problems, I've spent a lot of time on this thing, and now I don't have a lightbulb.

I have used this product for a short time and in that time I have been able to attach it to the stand, screw in a lightbulb and get the power to switch on and turn on the light. He has to do all of that. However, please note that the power cord is only 90 inches (7 feet, 6 inches) long, not * 9 feet (see picture). I have purchased another brand in the past and decided to give this one a try after reading some reviews. My problem with the first ones was the metal ring that makes contact with the bulb. It was cheaply built and fell apart. So, the first thing I did when I opened this package was to check what the lining was in this one. Judging by the rating, the design is much better. I had dozens of these from Limo Studio but they all broke and went in the trash! The threaded bushes are out! I'm a photography teacher, so I need at least 15 working models. To add to the tragedy, I resold about 30 of these to participants in some lighting workshops and got a black eye from so many failures! It was bad!
