4.5 stars for the fact that the range is not what I expected

Excellent router, excellent speeds. I've run various tests that rate the speed higher than I should be getting (100Mbps plan, max speed test is around 130-135Mbps). The application is great. Very convenient. It took me a while to plug it in the first time, but I think it was my own fault. The range is not as great as I expected, but quite good. Bought refurbished and works like new. TBH I'm a Netgear fan but this is the best router I've had so far, you won't be disappointed. ***By a Netgear fan

Bought 2x, 2x DOA immediately after the warranty expired

DOA after 6 months - BOTH. I bought two of these, one as an access point. I figured a three month warranty would be in order because if it breaks, it's instant. NOT CORRECT! After about 3 months, one of the LAN ports on one of the routers failed. Okay, no big deal - he didn't need it. Then today the rest of the ports went down and the WIFI started dropping a few minutes after the power went off. OK, that was such a good deal that even the death of a router isn't that bad - I'll just reconfigure

Do not recommend buying Linksys routers

Update January 10, 2019: Conclusion: If you are lucky and get a "good" router, you will undoubtedly be happy with this router (I think this represents most if not all of the positive reviews). If you are unlucky like me, then you may have the following experience. I received (September 2018) a defective EA9300 certified refurbished router with non-working WiFi radios. After several calls to Linksys, I sent back (at my own expense) the defective router, which Linksys replaced with a new EA9300…

Run away from this product! run fast!

I bought a refurbished one and it was DOA, no wifi signal at all. It doesn't send a signal when it's 2 feet away from it (literally). After several hours on the phone with Linksys we decided to do an RMA and they said that this EA9300 product was out of date in their stock, in other words they would no longer make or repair this model! They agreed to send me a newer model EA9400 but I received a refurbished one and worst of all it didn't come with a power supply! WTF? Another 45 minutes on the…

I need to do a lesson on iOS compatibility

More than 12 hours of calls to tech support to get it working. Finally. They said their refurbished versions were guaranteed crap, and support reached out to advertising to buy another router for $300 or more. I was tempted out of sheer frustration, but after tech support couldn't resolve the setup issues, I took two steps back to "You Tube University" and found a video solution that got this refurbished router working. A tire for Lynksys' crappy overseas support. (how NOT to run a business!)…

DOA REFUND Caution

DOA. This router worked amazingly for about 12 hours. It was easy to set up. Then after this complete nightmare. First it stopped broadcasting the SSID. After calling Linksys, the solution was to press and hold the reset button for 1 minute and then release it. This reset is by default, but it worked again, yes. An hour later the internet went off again. Repeat the steps and it worked. A few hours later the same problem. So I disconnected and reconnected my old router until I had more time to…

  • Excellent overall performance

  • Poorly thought out

How to sort out bad

So I ordered this and got the bad one the first time. I contacted Amazon, they ran some tests and found it defective and sent another one the next day. For me, paying less for a router and discarding a bad one is worth it. It's like getting $70 to test out a router. Not bad I would say. Signs that you are unwell. The router does not restart. The devices say they have the wrong password. Wi-Fi not compatible (I have an app for this Wi-Fi analyzer) The login/setup screen takes a long time to…
