🔧 Lisle Pivot Pin Remover Tool 19940 Review

Concerned after seeing the reviews. Screw a small screw into the pivot pin, hold the screw with an Allen wrench, turn the nut, the pins slowly extend. Make sure the bolts are not stressed by turning the nut too fast. Worked great.

Nobody sells and knows what you're talking about, with this tool you'll only use it once maybe twice if you're flipping your old Chevy and there's no explanation how to use it except youtube. For your stupid steering wheel.

This tool fitted my 1989 Chevrolet S10 steering column perfectly. I don't know what these other people do to attach the column screws, it's a very simple tool. If you broke it, you probably don't know what you're doing.

I tried to remove the hinge pins from a competitor model and had to remove them twice (I got a replacement from Revain). Then I ordered Lisle, received it an hour ago and the pins came off easily. Just make sure you have a 9/64 allen wrench handy. Robust construction and ease of use. good tool.

What a great tool. It only does one thing, but it does it VERY well. I needed this to pull the top of my steering column on a 1985 Trans Am to fix a bad wobble. I tried various DIY assembly methods using a bushing and washers and found my screw was on the verge of breaking. This tool fastened both pins at the same time. Keep it handy in your tool box in case I ever need to do this job again.

If you are planning to remove the pivot pin on a GMC/Chevy this is your tool. I bought this tool to replace the steering wheel on my Suburban. I was impatient and bought another at my local parts store and what a waste of time this tool broke immediately. As soon as this tool arrived I went back to my local scrap yard and BOOM without hesitation, this tool pulled that pivot out with no problem. Highly recommend having this in your toolbox! The price is justified, there are no headaches.

I don't think I will ever use this tool again. I'm a little sad because it worked out great. Anyway, I bought it to take apart a strut on a 1977 Chevy pickup to replace some worn parts - upper/lower bearings, turn signal switch, lock cylinder. with a stand to move the operating rod back and forth to engage the starter. I swear it looked like a Rube Goldberg car. but everyone is back together and I am a happy camper.

This tool is essential for steering column repair on tilt steering wheel vehicles. This job can also be done by purchasing a class 8 bolt and nut, a wing washer and using a nut to hold the steering wheel. But seriously, why not just get the tool at such a low price, get the job done right and you're done. For those who have broken a bolt on this puller, the reason may be that they did not use a 9/16" hex wrench as instructed to prevent the bolt from turning when loosening the nut on the tool…

Update #2 1/13/20: I bought a used latching version of this tool that looked exactly like this one. Worked perfectly on 2 of my speakers and my neighbor borrowed it. Not sure what the difference is. Maybe the class of bolt used? In any case, the Lisle brand did not suit me. Maybe others have better luck. Update: I got lucky. It does not work. I soaked the rocker pivot pins in heavy duty penetration grease overnight and again today. Both bolts on the tool broke on the first try. I made sure the…
