Description of Lufkin PHV1425DN Hi Viz Return Engineers

Ergonomic case design for better fit in-hand during measuring. Overmold case protects the tape from impact and makes it easier to grip. Toggle lock positioned on top of the tape doesn't require sliding to lock. Reinforced quad-rivet end hook prevents end hook from ripping off of blade.

Durability and functionality in one

Love this tape, it sticks out about two to two feet. Nice and bright orange so I can spot it on the job site. Inches and tenths so I can measure heights and offsets. I bought two in case one of them gets legs over time.

got what i ordered best in linear measurement

The extra markings on the measuring tape might help but also make it difficult to read in low light without reading glasses - good idea just not sure if it works Tape to add additional "Contractor/Carpenter" markings.

The locking function requires a significant amount of force to lock.

I have several of these Lufkin watches, they are all very easy to use. A light push on the spot you want to block and it will lock securely. It takes a lot of effort and many try to make it block. Very disappointed. I bought this brand from previous experience, why would they try to make something perfect better?

Not the best tape measure to own or use

Bought this to replace our 25ft tape which self destructed. Had to return the first one as it wouldn't close. The second is almost as difficult to repair, and when we finally looked at it, we found that the dimensions differed from other bands; They are listed in 1 foot increments. If you want the measurement in inches, you're out of luck. Definitely not recommended and will not buy again.

Rigid tape, tens and inches

Good tape. We use them in grading and they suffer a lot of abuse. Be careful what you buy! It has tenths and inches, which can be confusing if you don't use tenths. However, in commercial sorting, it is a great tool that we use on a daily basis. Lufkin has been around for a long time. Hard to find in big stores. Thank you for selling them at Revain for a reasonable price.

I don't usually leave reviews on things, but I felt compelled to do so because some of the reviews are ridiculous. Most 1 star reviews come from people who don't know they bought Engineering Scale Tape. I use them every day in inclement weather and have been using Lufkin tape for over a decade, it's the same quality I'm used to and I expect this tape to last a few years even in the rain and mud. Not sure what people are complaining about with the lock button, it takes the same amount of force…
