Good product, a bit thick

Bought to replace the seal at the bottom of the front door (steel door from the 80's). The fit in the slots is correct, the width is correct and the fit in the slots is very tight. I used a hacksaw to set the length and a rubber mallet. It's a little thick, which makes it difficult to open and close the door. I don't see many alternatives online so the choices are limited at best. Hey, these are seals.

Too much fat! Soft plastic peels right off slots

It says it fills a 3/8 inch gap, but it's 3/4 inch from notch to edge and my door won't close with it. Also, the slotted soft plastic that helps keep it in the door frame peels off immediately when you put it on the door. Many reviewers didn't have a problem, so I figured it was an installation error. I asked my dad to try it and he had the same problems. Unfortunately, she's been through so much that she can't go back.

Easy to install! in hardware

I saw a video online on how to do this so I bought it and tried it. So easy! Maybe it took 30-40 minutes from removing the old one to fully installing. I was lucky as my tailgate is slightly higher than the ground so I had enough room to work and didn't have to remove the door to install it. Find a help video - it's easy! The problem was that I needed a shorter one, so I really had to cut it out, and then I really had to cut more pieces for the grooves. It then took about 10 minutes of gently…

Exactly what I needed!

The product itself is perfect. Unseen, it still matched the bottom edge of my door perfectly. Simply pressed into the grooves. deed accomplished. BUT - the packaging/shipping box was WHY over the top. The box it came in literally made me giggle and THEN I was speechless. It should be about 40" x 12" x 5" (probably). Is it possible to ship it in a cardboard tube, like posters and cards do? I had the same problem a few months ago, when I ordered a curtain rod it was even more ridiculous, it came…

Fits Stanley door but door won't close

I had to return this item. It fits into the track on the underside of my 1993 metal Stanley door, but the door would not close with it. The original Stanley lower door seal had a few ribs but no bulb on either edge like the MD, and the bulb on the outside caught on the sill when I tried to close the door. I bought a Frost King gasket for a Stanley door and it works great. Frost King is also suitable for the track, but only has a few fins and a lightbulb on one edge. When the bulb is mounted on…

Airtight seal in less than two minutes!

I wish I had bought this sealing strip many years ago. But I'm stupid. Instead, I bought another and then bought another. None of these others provided an airtight seal like this. And it only took about two minutes to install. I didn't even have to take the door off its hinges. Simply open the door fully and insert the strip into the slots already built into the bottom of the door. It was so easy that I now feel stupid for wasting my time and money on those other horrible fillings that didn't…

Easily modifiable for doors without channels; good materials

I wanted a quality door base (not a cardboard magazine) for my discontinued peachtree no channel door. With a box of two 2x4 pieces inside for a floor level table, I removed the door pins and put the door back on, leaving enough room for the door handles. I then undid the screws holding the box flat with the bottom ledge door I bought a few years ago and decided the notch needed to be hot gun cut or cut from the new piece but the end of each notch back and forth wobbled her. several times it…

BUYER BEWARE! Hardware

This bad review does NOT reflect #MDPRODUCTS; They do quality cleaning that is worth the money. This rating is for the seller. When I received the first one it was bent in two places, it looked like someone tried to ship it in a smaller package and gave up so they sent it in a box which was a bit over the top, they matched probably in at least 30 more in this box! But there was a lot of paper in it, and it's pretty obvious it wasn't damaged in transit. The damaged sections are part of the…
