Mabef is one of the best brands of easels for artists in my opinion. I think they are made in Italy. They are good if you are tall as there are two blocks at the top of the easel so you can elevate your pictures to eye level. They are light. I regret nothing. You must store the pallet separately.

Good price, shipping was fast and well packaged. However, if you plan to work larger than 12x16 or any other size, the easel will wobble everywhere but the center when you paint. Maybe I'm just an aggressive artist, but this easel just doesn't have the best balance and durability. For outdoor painting when you are working larger than your normal outdoor dimensions I find it extremely useful but not in the studio.

Tough, lightweight and relatively compact. I bought it for a personal art project using as many materials and equipment as would be available to a mid 19th century artist. Used by many Impressionists, this type of easel effortlessly handles plein air and studio work, as well as canvases or panels of various sizes. I felt that it was well made and of good quality in appearance. I expect to get a lot from it. The price was amazing!
