Overall this is a good little DVD player. If you just play regular store-bought DVDs that are in excellent condition, this little player is phenomenal and you'll be fine. However, it is somewhat sensitive to DVD scratches and does not play all home video formats. We have 2 DVD players. This is a small Magnavox and a higher quality DVD recorder and player. A quality player will play most DVD scratches, while this Magnavox will get stuck on most of the same scratches. Also, this Magnavox does not
