The M1 MacBook Pro allows you to use two of them at the same time. I had another "magnetic proof" adapter but it was double wide so I could use both USB-C ports. I threw it away. tl;dr I highly recommend this connector for the MacBook Air/Pro M1 - it transfers all data without (noticeable) flickering, including 4K@ 60 video and gigabit ethernet, and the system report says it's Thunderbolt 3 at 20Gbps. I had the opportunity to fix some issues I was having with the Thunderbolt Dock. The thing definitely doesn't do anything other than USB 3.1 (USB 3.1 == USB 3.0, just renamed to a new standard). It seems to work fine on a Macbook Pro but not on a Dell XPS (with Thunderbolt 4). At Dell, this causes the devices to fail (some USB ports are not working properly). A few comments on this.
