Works Great - Power & Hand Tools

I was skeptical when I bought my first MagSwitch. How to turn non-electric magnets on and off, but I soon learned otherwise. Now I have two devices and I like both. I had no problem keeping them in place and they are easy to rearrange if needed. A great idea.

Pros
  • An Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Hard to Tell

Great addition to my table saw

MagSwitch vertical and horizontal spring boards work exceptionally well. Their magnets hold firmly to the fence and cast iron table top of my table saw. Gently hold my workpiece against the countertop and fence for repeated straight cuts. The magnetic ON/OFF switch allows for easy and quick adjustment.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Includes negative

Not as helpful as hoped

Works as it should, medium magnet. I got this to mount on my table saw fence and it fits in there really well. But it's not very convenient to use it for this purpose because you can't use the pusher to push the wood. Not very helpful now that I've used it. I'm going to use it for something that doesn't need a fence to cut material thinner than about 1 1/4 wide.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Ok

No worse than horizontal models

I have several of them, I ordered this one in good faith that it will be the same as the others. I have "Magswitch Pro Table Featherboard" and "Magswitch Woodworking Starter Kit". These two will sit on the table once activated and will remain there until you turn them off. This can easily be rotated around its vertical axis with minimal effort. I have to use it multiple times, look at its behavior and decide if it's a Guardian or not!

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Ease of maintenance

Not stuck in power tool parts and accessories

Don't know rubber fins or magnet is not strong enough. I put a table saw saw stop between the "SS decal" and the rubber on the bottom; he doesn't stay down. I can turn it with minimal effort. I can see it weakening as the board rises sharply, then which way the clamp falls, on the side of the blade or on the other side of the fence. I tried it on a saw table and it's still articulated. I have a few other magnetic switch products that I have no problem with. The idea is good.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Quality

Weak magnetic switch on this model

I had high hopes but was disappointed. The magnetic switch installed in the device is weak (65 lbs I believe) and will rotate or slide if you apply more than 3/16 inch pressure on the pen board with thin fingers. "Thick, so 1/2 inch, which results in a lot less pressure for the same compression. I suspect it kept coming up in testing, so they reduced the strength of the fingers by making them thin. But we all know we need pressure, so all you have to do is press harder. NO! I just turn or turnโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy installation
