Everything about it is great.

Everything about it is perfect. The only thing I will suggest is not to take it in winter. Replacing the battery can be tricky as you have to remove the screws to access the battery compartment. Using a magnetic screwdriver will help you avoid losing the screws. The manual says nothing about "V+ and V-". You control the volume.

Transmitter and receiver work fine, however.

Installed and tested, works well over 100 feet WHEN WORKING. The problem is that the sensor doesn't work until the curb mailbox is open a full 180 degrees (i.e. straight down). A postman rarely does that. I'm going to use a light angle iron to rotate the device 90 degrees to see if that helps. But for an extra $5 they could use a mercury switch.

The signal does not go through multiple walls and the tone is frustrating for the dog and a wedge may be required.

Works but the high pitched beep is very annoying to my dog even at the lowest volume. Mute would be an improvement. Installation was easy with two people, but the cheap tiny screws on the block in the mailbox didn't hold. Another thing is that the block needs to be open about 90 degrees to give a signal. My media often doesn't open that wide so I put a wedge underneath it at a 45 degree angle and that fixed the problem. If the device is open at 90 degrees, the stuck device is at about 135…

Good product. Easy installation from the package!

Easy to install. Place the transmitter in the door of the mailbox, plug the receiver into an outlet in your house. The red light will flash and the alarm will sound (about 10 or 12 times when the mailbox door opens. Check your mail when the alarm sounds. We don't get our mail at the same time every day. This product saves me a lot of trips to mine Mailbox. I highly recommend it if your mailbox is far away! Note: One of the most important features is that the light keeps flashing after the alarm

Buy another one: Mailboxes & Accessories

There are 2 of these letterbells on Amazon which are very similar except for the price, the other is $20 more I would recommend you check out the " other" to buy. ".three reasons1. The light on the recipient's mailbox is always on and only flashes when the mail is being delivered. 2. This may work well when the sensor is only a few feet away, but in the real world my mailbox is 50 feet from home and won't see the sensor even if the receiver is inside an outside wall. I had "another" that worked

Instructions require some work

This unit works as advertised but getting it to work took more trouble than it should have. Getting the base to recognize the sender seems easy enough, but for some reason it didn't reset until I fully assembled it. I made several trips to the mailbox (100 feet each way) to open and close the mailbox door, then returned to the house to see if it worked. Eventually the reset worked and everything has been fine ever since. I think the instructions are missing a step or two. Now it works every…
