cuts like butter: Blades

Buy. Couldn't be better for cutting concrete. Worked amazingly well on a hard 92 year old basement floor that was at least 6000 psi.

Bad batch maybe? The quality control is not very good.

I have been using Makita Diamond Blades for a little over a year and have had no problems prior to this last order. These blades are primarily used for cutting stone, and for the most part have performed well. Unfortunately, the two blades we ordered started breaking almost as soon as we used them. I would like to say that we were just unlucky and received a bad batch but given the price and that they were made specifically for stone I am a bit disappointed with their quality control.

Broken after five minutes of cutting

The blade itself is not broken, there was a small collet in the middle. If you zoom in on the product image you will see a serrated gold collet in the center of the blade around the hole. This came to light when I was cutting a granite slab after about 5 minutes of use. So it was that I got a good return on the saw, although fortunately I wasn't injured. The Makita saw I used came with a blade and I used it to finish the job. I tried putting the collet back in place but it wouldn't stay and…
