🔧 Makita CB440 Carbon Brush Kit Review

I really liked these brushes. They were easy to install, only took five minutes. My exposure may not look like it, but it works like new. I would try this 6 stars if I could. Fast delivery. Perfect packaging. Precise fit. Amazing price. Just remember to lift the compression spring when installing.

Used these on a drill and screwdriver that were on their last breath and it gave both the most power back. Not entirely new levels, but much better. Good price to give back a few tools to productive members of my shop.

I really LOVE Makita products more than any other tool on the market so I hate to say the quality of these brushes is VERY POOR! Broke after a few weeks of use, and not the carbon brush itself but the little copper wire fused to the carbon broke straight away! It must have been a bad day for whoever made this pair! 😕

They fixed my 18 volt cordless drill and they were easy to install. My only criticism is Makita for designing these tools with such flimsy brushes. My drill was only 2 years old when the shaft brushes were completely worn out. I have 4 other Makita cordless drills that are over 15 years old and still work perfectly with only half worn brushes.

My Makita drill bit won't spin anymore. I used the iFixIt guide and everything went smoothly. Essentially I loosened the two rear screws, removed all the clamps (four of them) and pulled out the old ones. The new ones snapped easily into place once I got the alignment right. Decent price at the time and seems to be holding up so far. They're cheap enough that I could buy a pair to keep in my tool box.

After using a large diameter paddle bit in very old hardwood, my 18v drill started smoking and I unplugged it. However, it was too late, the damage was done, he could hardly turn. Instead of taking it to an authorized Makita repair center, I risked burning out the brushes and ordered these new genuine brushes. After watching a video on YouTube I just swapped out the brushes. After 5 minutes I was back up and running like new. Thank you Revane and Makita!
