Climbed my whole house all by myself. This made cutting the J-channel grooves faster and easier. After a while I stopped just cutting "tabs" and switched to full slots. Then, instead of bending the tab at the corners, I just stuck a piece of weatherproof tape in the channel j. The tool is a great time saver.
Cutter looks and feels good, cuts grooves like a champ, lug cutouts not so good. About half of my tabs were great and the rest broke the j-channel. Tried other pieces of channels and the same thing. If I send it back I can't afford to spend more channel. I think I just got a bad one.
Works well for the most part. I think in cold weather the j channel shrinks making them a little too big to fit in 5/8 j. Can't wait to see if they work better as it warms up. I would still recommend it because I'm pretty sure I'm getting the temperature right, which makes channel j difficult to work with.
Pros
High marks for support and durability from testers
The cutter is durable and very useful if you have the right size. I keep getting the right box (label) with the wrong size cutter. I'm trying for the third time now. It takes less time to ship since they advertise. They top up the shipping cost very generously (overseas). If I have to send the item a few more times, I get it for free. whenever i get the right one. I will not give up.
Excellent J channel edge tool that can be used to trim windows or other obstructions. A very reliable "one click" feel to create a tab with little risk of over-pressing and removing the tab completely. With a little more pressure you can easily remove the tongue. It doesn't feel bulky or awkward to hold and use. The gradations at the punchline take a while to get used to, but hey, aren't we all teachable? I have never had a problem with Malco tools and this unit is no exception. I highly…
It would be great if that's what is listed and I need! channel I ordered. JCC75R was delivered twice. It looks like nobody can fix this problem. So I'm sending the tool back and will buy it locally. This cutter is great for cutting right through the bottom of the J Channel, but if you want to make a curved tongue it's not very good. I used it at work last week and the temp was at 70 but the cutter still broke the J channel on some cuts and in most cases it was possible to make a curved edge but not with any Consistency. To make a 45 degree incision on the face, use metal scissors. I couldn't get the j channel face into the cutter. This saves time when cropping windows, but not as well as…
