Description of Enhanced Malco TNP2R Retaining Trim Punch
Nail retaining clip holds nail securely while positioning punch. Avoid the awkwardness and strain of balancing nails in the nose of the punch. Minimizes scrapes and dents caused by nail slippage. Allows for the proper setting depth. Perfect for use while standing on a ladder or reaching out to nail.
I like this tool. Holds the nail well and helps a lot when driving nails in tight spaces! Works well with false nails. It will hold nails with very small heads so first check the head size of the nails you intend to use with this tool.
Just wow. I thought I was getting a quality product as Malco is a good brand as my friends told me. The nail puller broke off the second nail! Of course it's just a small clip, but for me it's funny. It's still usable, but not as efficient.
Bought this about halfway through my vinyl siding garage. I wish I had bought it in the first place as it does the tedious job of nailing those hard to reach places in one go! This is one of those tools that you will surely find in the arsenal of most professionals.
Not much to say here. This item is described as a box of 6 but they only ship 1 and they charge almost double the price. You can get the super power version for only a fraction of what they charge for this item. It's a decent standard kick, but the price is way too high. The price seems fair for 6 but definitely not for 1.
So far, so good. I've been using it all week and have hit over 100 nails with no problems. I was a bit worried about the reviews that the little clip holding the nail broke easily but no problems so far. I threw it off the board onto the concrete and stuffed it in my tool bag all day with no problem. It's a little heavy, especially compared to the black Malco Mini, so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
Worked great until the nail holder clip was bent. I've tried bending it back to get it working again and never got it back to how it was when it was new. In the end, the clip ended completely. Otherwise it works quite well. Another thing is that it tends to loosen halfway between the red and bare metal areas, so keep an eye on that and screw it back in from time to time. Used it so many times it started to grow mushrooms on both ends (maybe 200-250 stainless steel nails).
This is a great idea and it works, but it will ruin (even dent) your suffit as the reveal is V-shaped and smaller than the outside of this tool. This was the only measurement they didn't list in the description. I understand they need to make it stronger, but it would be possible to reduce the OD to fit the canal and it would still hold since you're not driving an 8p nail in, just alum trim nails. They have different ones but I liked the nail holder idea. As others have said, it broke on the…
