Buy a few sizes larger than the size chart says! The sizes 4-6 years, 7-10 years and 11-14 years seem to be about the same for my two small skinny children (5 and 7 years). Even when I stretch the belt with my hands, I don't feel or see any noticeable difference between the waist measurements, the actual stretch, or even the actual length of the tights.
