Easy way To Create Vector Graphics Using Tile Services

It is very easy to use this library for creating maps using tilesets from openstreetmap or other mapping services like OSM etc., I was able create various types of vector data viz map overlays as well as geospatial databases (PostGIS) without worrying about how it will be rendered by different browsers such as IE/Edge vs Chrome / Firefox versus Safari etc.. The only problem that i have faced so far while working over OpenStreetMap tile sets which are available free online at…

Pros
  • Easy way in building your own customizable web applications with simple GUI
  • Simple implementation
  • Can build both 2D AND 3d views easily.
  • Easily integrateable into existing projects through Python scripting language
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

User friendly tool but needs work in terms

It's really easy to put together some initial data to populate your map. The program is very intuitive, you can set up templates for different types of maps. I wish it was easier to use a shapefile instead of having to use a csv file. It's nice that it supports OSM tiles rather than just using my own files; however, this adds another layer of complexity to make sure everything works properly across different browsers, etc. For us, we're creating an interactive online GIS for our organization…

Pros
  • Intuitive interface
  • Easy editing options (for non programmers)
  • Many prebuilt widgets available within openlayers3 library.
  • Open source project under Apache Licence v2 great support community via mailing lists/IRC helpdesk!
Cons
  • No.shp or other vector formats as input format,
  • Little choice in terms if styling outputs compared eith Arc

Great open source alternative if QGIS doesn

I like how easy it is to use! It's very simple to get up and running quickly without having to learn too much about GIS or programming. The documentation could be more comprehensive for beginners who are just getting started with python scripting. Also, there isn't an option for a custom style layer (like using your own shapefiles). If you have basic knowledge of SQL queries and spatial database management this tool will work well for you. We were able to create our own maps that we used…

Pros
  • It's simple to create custom layers
Cons
  • It's a very basic tool that could be more custom to your company's style

I like that it's open source so you can see how everything works behind scenes (it is not just magic). It also has good support for GIS data formats such as shapefiles or GeoJSON files from ESRI/QGis etc., which makes integration easy if your organization already uses those file types. The documentation could be better but there are many online resources to help out when getting started using this library. If you're looking into mapping services then look at other options because they tend…

Pros
  • A great free tool with lots available tools, libraries & scripts used in both Python programming languages along side C++
Cons
  • Documentation leaves something wanting.
  • Licensing fees
  • Lack Of Community Support<p>
  • I am happy customer
