Description of Marie's Extra Fine Gouache Opaque Watercolor Paint Set - 12 ml Tubes - Assorted Colors (Pack of 18)

The Best Value In Transparent Tube Watercolor Anywhere!. Gouache (opaque watercolor) has only transparent binders so colors dry without shifting—a common problem with acrylics. Gouache may be reworked because the paint film is not permanent until sealed. Gouache may be used with liquid friskets and along the same range of techniques as used with transparent watercolors. Made with the finest pigments in high concentration to yield rich and brilliant results. All colors are lightfast and conform to ASTM D-4236 standards. Gouache Set of 18 - 12 ml tubes. Colors include: Vermillion, Ultramarine Blue, Yellow Ochre, Lemon Yellow, Titanium White, Mixing White, Yellow Middle, Cerulean Blue, Viridian, Sap Green, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Crimson Red, Green Pale, Lamp Black, Mauve, Rose and Pussian Blue.

Amazing pigments! в Arts and Crafts Supplies

I have Marie's Very Fine Watercolor and Very Fine Gouache! And they're both amazing. I mean it's really good for beginners like me :) and it's really affordable. I have the gold mission colors but I don't want to play with them much because of the price I paid for them lol but these sets make me feel free! The reason is its quality and price! Good choice!

Very nice set in Paints

I had never worked with gouache before so I didn't know what to expect. They are top-notch student grades from research. I made them all in very good colors. They are very bright. They work well with other media. Also, I've used this gouache set with my brushes and ink and they work fantastic. I am so happy with this set

Don't waste your dollars

I'm really upset with how they ended up. I bought them on Emily Artful's recommendation and they didn't work well. Half of the flowers didn't have the opacity you would expect from gouache and a handful were very dry and difficult to squeeze out of the tube. The burnt sienna was so dry I couldn't get it out of the tube and I had to open the bottom of the tube to get some of the pigment out. It did not dissolve well in water at all and remained lumpy after a very long time of treatment.

Great stuff for everyday use.

You really have to know how to use gouache to feel like a good product. I hear a lot of bad reviews from those who firmly believe in "artist quality" but if you use them for odd jobs I find them perfectly acceptable. My clients don't pay for art, so I don't use high quality products for these types of fast food/art buyers. I love the set and I have to admit that it doesn't look like watercolor, but more like oil. , and you'll have a learning curve for those who expect to just dive in if you…

Incredible Quality and Stunning Colors

An absolutely incredible solution that costs $15. A little gouache goes a long way and I love its matte look. This is a great color set and they still look great after a year. Just note that this is not acrylic and cannot be used straight from the tube. You can use it this way, but your paint will be very thick and you'll seep through the tubes quickly. Water must be added to process and lighten color. When the colors on your palette are dry, simply add a little water to activate them. One of…

Good gouache for beginners with some limitations

This is a great mid-level introduction if you just want to experiment and see if gouache works for you. As with most beginner kits, the paints are of lower quality than artist, but the paints are quite pigmented. Cons: There is very little information on the packaging, and some tubes require more convincing than others. The purple tube in particular differed from other tubes in shape and packaging. The main disadvantage of this kit is the white color. It's off-white rather than true white, and…

Surprised! in colors

I gave this set of Maries to my niece for Christmas and was very pleasantly surprised at how well these colors worked while watching her paint. I bought the set on a whim when I decided to try watercolor paints. It sat unopened in my desk drawer and little did I know it was going to make a really great set. I recently painted with my niece and these colors are bright, great quality and hold up well when wet which I didn't expect. There is a huge range of colors to experiment with and loads of…
