Compact Marina Algae Magnet Cleaner for Efficient Tank Cleaning Review

It is small and has comfortable pads that run in and out of the tank. While this scares my fish a little, I think it's understandable as they don't really know what it's for and it's new to them.

Beautiful, discreet magnet for cleaning algae. Each piece measures approximately 1 x 2.5 x 0.75 inches and can even be used for 2.5 gallon tanks. I use it for my 29 gallon tank and have never regretted not having a bigger magnet. Comes with a cord and loop in case it falls off, although I don't use it. The cleaning side is rough and easily handles green spot algae and black beards.

We bought this cleaner to quickly complete our aquarium cleaning and also to touch up our betta tank from time to time, but it was actually more work than anything. The product includes a string designed to "vibrate" the pads to clean the walls of the tank, but it's almost impossible to do this easily or quickly. Also, the pads weren't of very good quality, which only added to the disappointment.

Completely unusable. One side is so rough it scratched my tank. If I want to hide this side now, I'll have to uproot and replant my tank to rearrange everything. Thank goodness I still have that option as the tank is cycling. A brand new acrylic tank gets smashed because the cleaning side is practically sandpaper. I thought it would soften in water but it doesn't. I am extremely disappointed. It was a waste of money.

A pretty good cleaner for the price. I was looking for something thin so I could get the jar with the plants on it without breaking or uprooting it, but any magnets that were really thin were more expensive. The item arrived with an oily stickiness on the outside of the packaging but the magnet itself was clean. It would be great if the part of the magnet that goes into the aquarium was thinner, but for the price it's very good.

Exactly what it says. It removes algae from the walls of my tank without having to put my hand in it. Sometimes it takes a few passes to remove really thick algae and the cleaning pad might need a few rinses before you're done cleaning, but it works really well and is one of the best purchases I've ever made . my tank. The string ties the two magnets together in case you lose contact with the contents, so you don't even have to reach for it when you're done. Highly recommended.

Strong magnet, easy to use, does its job perfectly. I've read other reviews that said the adhesive used to attach the pad left marks, but I haven't had any such issues. . I carefully inspected the pads and I didn't see any excess glue so everything is fine. I've also read that some people have said they have to run it 20 times to get rid of the algae. Obviously there are many different types of algae, so your results will vary; mine is a hard, smooth, dark green variety that grows in patches…
