🧵 Palm Quilting Paddle Set by Martelli - 2 pieces Review

Nice little quilting accessory. We bought them when my wife was sewing a blanket for our granddaughter. After years of quilting without them, this is the best way. Less strain on arms and shoulders. They grip the material well and make manual quilting on the machine a lot easier. We definitely recommend them!

They seem to hang onto the fabric well as described but I'm having trouble with the right one. Although my machine is considered a quilting machine and there is a large work surface to the right of the needle I found this paddle more of a hindrance than a help. I went back to my sticky gloves and was much happier. Shame I didn't try them sooner - the return period has expired.

I love the feel of these paddles which are designed to give you more control when free motion quilting. There is a learning curve, but the paddles really grip the fabric and I like not wearing gloves. Have found that large jobs like a quilt work better with these paddles than table runners and other small projects. You should have enough room to pull off the top and place the paddles without feeling constricted. Definitely a clever idea.

This is amazing! The area that comes into contact with the fabric is not sticky, but somehow comes into contact with the top of the blanket and does not move even with a simple fingertip manipulation. We were told that using a "slip mat" under our blanket would help, but I don't think so. We are told to wear padded gloves to help, but only minimally. These amazing Martelli Palm paddles are awesome! No more squeezing or depressing the top of the quilt to move it, tiring your hands or fingers…
