1 Lock didn't work best in hardware

Beyond annoying. You need three locks with the same keys for different locations. I was trying to pick the locks and move them to other places when I realized one of the locks was broken. The key was not suitable for opening/installation. I would have returned all three, but it has taken time and effort to put two of them back in place. How painful.

Pros
  • 4 pin cylinder for added tamper protection and dual ball bearing lock for maximum tamper resistance
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Beware of the cold

Bought these just in time for winter. I've used one on a rescue shed and the shackle fits, but removing it takes a bit of maneuvering. The lock feels solid, nothing you would expect from a Master Lock. There are only two keys here, not three. I don't really care, but something you might want to know. As for operating the lock, my toggle switch froze. The castle is 5 feet off the ground and has no contact with the snow. On two separate occasions I put the key inside and the lock would not turn…

Pros
  • Inner and outer lock; A keyed padlock is best for gates and fences in houses, sheds, workshops and garages, tool boxes etc.
Cons
  • Nothing

Decent Hardware Locks

These are good general purpose locks with a longer shackle. My use was to mount my RTIC 40 to a crooked post in my boat. I can go through the built in mounting hole in the radiator and plug in the 1/2" steel cable. I like having three identical keys. Two for radiators, one for different boat purposes. This works like a hitch lock since the brass ones are too are small. I look forward to a modest life. You will probably need WD40 or 3 in 1 from time to time. I wouldn't call these locks high…

Pros
  • Lock Body 1-3/4" (44mm) wide; Bracket 5/16" (8mm) diameter, 2-1/2" (64mm) long, 3/4" (19 mm) wide; Extended shackle length for flexibility
Cons
  • Doubtful

Great locks for the money

I need something for my gate fence with a long shackle to fit around the handle. I also needed two locks (one for each gate) and this lock suited my needs with a key that fit each lock. I just got an extra third lock to use where else I might. You seem very strong. I believe these locks will be sufficient to prevent someone from breaking into my property. They can be used for indoor or outdoor use. I am deducting a star for a complaint about this set. There were only two keys in the package…

Pros
  • Key lock has a laminated steel body and hardened steel shackle for strength and security
Cons
  • No instructions
