Very good quality product

I bought these 'music' CDRs after reading on various internet sites that the reason for this was that I was having trouble playing the CDR recording in my machine, it was due to the quality of the CDR I was using. While I'm here, I have to say that this is nonsense - these CDRs won't play either when recorded on my Mac desktop! ANSWER: I found it odd that over the past few years I could always record to play in my car, so I pulled out my old 2008 MacBook Pro laptop and tried to record one of…

Do not buy. They don't record and/or play

I used 15 of these to burn music CDs for a friend . I've used a number of well known brands the day before (and in the past) without a single issue. The blanks are over, I ordered these. EVERYONE was unable to record or play. 15 in total. I tested them on two machines and three home CD players. Nothing. This is in a very small part my fault. A few years ago I read an excellent research article about blank CDs on the Internet. The limited number of companies that make them, the…

Maxell Music CD-R media, the brand I trust

Although the box cover shows Maxdata CD-R Music, the discs are actually labeled Maxell CD-R Music. Even so, they only appear to be visually identical to previous music CD-Rs I've bought in the past. And since I intend to use this product solely for recording music, I won't encounter the problems that some consumers have when purchasing CD-R media. My first project was recorded flawlessly and played back successfully on the various devices I play music on. For example my Blu-ray® player…

Pros
  • High Sensitivity Recording Layer
Cons
  • Electrical outlet required

However, they still work on some recorders.

While these discs are inexpensive and have little to no issues with the manufacturing process, compatibility with many CD burners is poor, and that's not just an issue we're concerned with Spinners like to use old equipment. Even if a disc is written correctly, some CD players may not be able to read it. Maxell is responsible for cluttering the label with their logo, but they are not directly responsible for how poorly these discs perform. They don't make them and their current suppliers appear

What happened to the quality?

Something has gone wrong with this product recently. I've never had a problem with Maxwell music CDs, but this latest batch is terrible. While the quality of the recording seemed okay at first, after a few weeks on the shelf, three out of four discs started jerking and freezing when changing tracks. I know these 3 discs play great the first time they are burned, but the short interval shows that something is wrong with them. Playing on different players did not bring any improvement. I will use

  • Jewelery box not included
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Terrible Music/Audio CD-R - what happened?

I have never had a problem burning audio/music CD-Rs on my CD-R burner. I have always found the quality of the Maxell to be excellent but bought it in August 2019 and am very dissatisfied. The first disc I burned ran fine, but the second disc wouldn't burn after I was about halfway through and not finalizing it. I got a "Repair"/"Check Disk" message on my burner CD-R. It pissed me off because I spent a lot of time making multiple copies on CD-R Maxell close. So I used a different brand of CD-R…

As far as I remember

Think we'll never say goodbye to CDs? I bought a new car with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but . it also has a CD player. As much as I enjoy the world of music streaming, I still enjoy putting my favorite albums onto a CD and listening to them in their entirety. I was very happy about these blank CDs. These have been my favorites for many years. The only difference I see in them and the ones I had 10 years ago is a small difference in the design of the front of the CD, there are some notes…

Pros
  • Playable on the latest home, car, portable and computer CD and DVD players
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Perhaps this is an unfair rating as I'm not sure if the problem is with CDs. I have previously ordered hundreds of Maxell CD-R music CDs with no problems - they have been an excellent product! I recently ordered these (significantly) cheaper 50 packs and have had a lot of problems. I think I'll be returning some of them as I doubt they can be any different from the ones in the original listings (which I had no trouble with). Note that this list is fairly recent. I thought it might be the…
