Hot Rims Wheel Polisher by Meguiar's G4400 Review

Bought this for my husband as one of his Christmas gifts because he is obsessed with car care. It lived up to his expectations and he's a big fan of Megyar. I will not use any other brand.

My rims were starting to look bad. I've tried different cleaners like chrome cleaner and soap but they didn't help at all. The rim wax I applied didn't seem to help keep it clean either. But the thing does its job. It takes some muscle power, but it definitely works.

I gave four stars because it works efficiently, but it's no better than Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and costs three times what you would pay for Turtle Wax. If you're the type that prefers fancy names by all means throw your money at it, if you want something that works just as well for 1/3 the price stick with Turtle Wax.

Yes, as advertised. I suggest the user hold the black stick with the second hand instead of having both hands on the drill. If the polisher gets caught on the edge, it will pull in the direction of rotation of the drill and tear off the part of the disc you want to polish. Holding it on the pole gives you more control. Another feature I like is that the foam holds its shape. During storage, no flat spots formed due to edging or the like.

There was a basic kit that included Dynacone, Hot Rims polish, and pad cleaner. I just saw that they are sold separately. The Pad Cleaner is useless as the instructions state that soap and water should be used to clean the Dynacone Pad. Works well on alloy trailer rims. I like this Hot Rims rim polisher a lot more than the competitor's red tool. Two main reasons I like it so much: 1) Integrated shaft sleeve. This is a plastic sleeve on a rotating inner shaft driven by a drill. This gives you good control over where you want to maneuver the polishing head. 2) The "working end" of the polishing head is rather narrow or small. It handles tight corners and turns well on wheels. I use a polishing machine mostly on wheels. I don't polish very hard either, just…
