🧽 Meguiar's W4000 Cut and Shine 8-inch Wool Buffing Pad Review

I bought this and some One Step Compound from Meguiar to wipe down an old boat with a badly oxidized finish. It cut through the oxidation like a knife! Holds up well, seal quality is excellent. I couldn't be happier with it.

I bought this with my 7 inch polishing tool and it's good because the pad that came with the kit was delaminated. the car looks great, the pads seem to stick very well to the seams and corners, I don't notice any trace of curl either.

Used less than an hour before the back of the Velcro was half open. Returned and returned. I will say that it did a good job of polishing the 2000 grit before it broke down. I love the Meguiars blends and the soft foam pads (never had any issues with the pad) but I think I'll look elsewhere for my wool pads.

As recommended, it is used to perform the auto polish cutting step with the Porter 7424XP cable. He does his job well. My only complaint is that the fine wool threads break and fall off. You have to clean the garage after polishing the cars. I think that's the nature of wool. I use it for tough jobs like cars that don't get waxed/polished like mine for a long time. After that I switch to foam.

Received this polishing pad today and cannot believe the quality of the product. This is a hefty pad that easily attaches to my random orbit sander. I can't wait to try it out on my machine. No more hand polishing. I have used similar products and have had to stop every 2 minutes to reattach the pad. As far as I can see it won't be a problem. The product came much quicker than expected and at a reasonable price. Want a hard shine, this is the way to go.

I am very happy with this wool pad. I use it to remove oxidized gelcoat on a 30ft boat. I also use foam pads for regular cleaning, polishing and waxing. However, if you need to remove moderate to heavy oxidation, a wool wheel is much better, which in my experience is really necessary. I have used and cleaned the pads several times and they have held up well. I really can't compare them to other brands but they work well and I will order them when the time comes.
