They are light. They fit well and stay in place well. However, they are a little weak in protection, especially on the sides. The padding is a thin strip running down the front of the lower leg. So I wouldn't recommend them if you want to train hard. In this case, do yourself and your partner a favor and use thicker pads. But for everyday light sparring and training I really like them.

I think they are a bit small

I am a 5'8" male, weigh 170 pounds and wear size 10 shoes. After reading about the sizing options here and on the master website I thought "small/medium" would be fine. However, they were too small and snug. I could barely get my foot through the bottom elastic loops and I have skinny calves. I was too scared of the big one would be too big so I sent them back instead of exchanging them. Also they didn't seem that great considering they are supposed to be top notch shin pads. They don't wrap…

Love them, had the typical Muay Thai brands before them

Well made and they stay in place for well over a year. What if a guy kicked me with full force and I checked the kick and I didn't feel a jab, just a kick, or maybe my shins didn't feel anything after 8 years of muay thai? But hey, padding that covers the front of the ankle is very useful as most shin guards only cover the shins and feet so every time someone blocks a high elbow blow my ankles don't get hurt! the black ones are starting to wear out!

Great fit, good padding.

6' 208 lbs Size L/XL Fits well. The padding is still stiff and sits flat, but that's how they're packed in my bag. The strap attaches securely without hanging over the calf muscles. I bought these for a calf and arch combo so I only managed and wore one pair of pads instead of two. The instep pad tends to roll to the outside of my legs, although not by much; no big impact on my leg. I love the textured ball strap. It's not grippy enough that the last one comes off, but I know it helps my foot…

Disappointed purchase

When I received them in the mail my first thought was that they were excellent quality. However, after using them for a few sparring sessions, I want to return them. First, the leg straps kept pushing out and catching on my pinky toe. I felt like I was going to break my pinky because the straps went up my leg. Second, the padding doesn't fully protect the shin on the sides. If you don't pay attention to correct kicks, you could get a nasty bite in the shin. This is very painful. I want a shin…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Some little things

I was hesitant to give a 4 or 5 star rating. I decided to keep 5 after considering their cost. You get what you pay for and compared to other guards I've tried they are on par for what they should be for the price. This is a unique design and no one else at my gym has them. Pros: 1) I like that they have a massive cushion in the front and a bit on the sides. This makes me check my opponent's shots better, otherwise I'll feel it. Not a plus for some, but a plus for me. 2) The harness system is…
