Given that the "pearl case" for CDs was initially problematic, we all need broken case replacements. They are quite strong, although of course the original design flaws remain. Covers and leaflets are easy to insert as long as they are not too thick.

Using Memorex means quality. Not anymore, ordered 20 new cases. Five were damaged upon arrival, losing 25% of the total order. The cases that have survived are extremely weak. The hinges break easily. Please save your good money.

Due to the closure of Dimple Records in Sacramento, California, I recently bought some CDs with broken jewel cases. I ordered Memorex jewelry boxes which were delivered in less than 24 hours in perfect condition. Although not as heavy as the original sleeves, they are suitable for CDs as well as front and back covers. With proper care, these cases should be just as durable and last as long as the original cases.

So we got a package of 10 standard size transparent boxes. The first five were perfect, but the second set of five isn't perfect. The inner compartment that holds the CD is not connected to the outer case. The small latches do not hold the inner compartment to the outer case. Unfortunately, my wife has already used up the first 5 boxes and threw away the cardboard sleeve, otherwise I would have sent the product back. Not durable at all.

I was looking for an OE quality CD box to replace some broken CDs in my collection. They were advertised as individually boxed and I thought they should be of good quality for the advertised price. As it turns out, they're far more fragile and have sharper edges than the cases that came with the original CDs decades ago. They weren't individually wrapped either.
