It has an odor, but it's a good belt.

I love the strap but I can't get rid of the smell of tannins and colors. Washed 3 times with saddle soap, Murphy's Oil soap and used silicone waterproofing spray and it still smells. Also put in the sun for 6 hours. The belt is well made.

It stinks to high heaven!

Don't get me wrong these straps are beautiful. The workmanship is very good, but they stink! I bought three for my husband (one of each color) and they all smell bad! I contacted the seller and they told me the smell would go away, but it didn't. I bought a spray to get rid of the smell but to no avail. Sorry to give a bad review but these weren't cheap stuff and the smell makes them difficult to wear.

This was my second purchase of this item.

This was my second purchase of this item. just to have a new one ready to go if (if) my first one ever wears out. The strap is stretchable, but there are separate buckle holes at the end. Previous versions of this style of webbing belt that I have purchased relied on a buckle being pierced through the weave, causing the leather threads to snap in less than a year. The design of this strap completely eliminates this problem.
