American Union made. Beautiful design. Comfy.

Pretty long rant, skip to bottom for pros and cons.I've have always wanted a pair of these boots. In the beginning of my construction career, going on 15 years, I was always told by my Journeymen to buy good boots. Being young and cheap, I couldn'twrap my head around spending hundreds of dollars on boots. As I advanced through the years it made more and more sense. I felt guilty for buying imported boots, as if we don't support foreign companies enough. Last year I tried to buy American made…

Pros
  • Made in the USA, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and materials
Cons
  • The boots are not very breathable and may cause bad odors or foot infections with prolonged use

) like the Redwings are

I got then the right size for length, but I should have gotten the wider width. I have had to find a new insole solution to make up for this, but it has worked out well. These are a "lighter" boot than my old Redwing 2405's, meaning that the foot area is not lined with any cloth or other material outside of the toe box (for shape?) like the Redwings are. However, they have broken in really well, and this took a few days, some sprays with 1:1 rubbing alcohol and distilled water to help…

Pros
  • Made from premium full-grain leather for superior durability and longevity
Cons
  • The boots are not very flexible and may restrict movement, causing discomfort

Love The Black/Black Walnut Version

I was really drawn to the look of the Black/Black Walnut color scheme. I ordered them in 11.5 wide. When I opened the box, they were really appealing boots. I just love the look. The craftsmanship was great, the leather very solid, they were symmetrical; everything looked good.I have had them 2 months and have put about 100 miles on them; about half that distance on trails, and half on pavement. I love them as walking shoes. They won't be any good on challenging terrain, because they just are…

Pros
  • Super comfy from the start with great arch support
Cons
  • The boots are quite expensive compared to other similar work boots on the market

Great boots on my review.

I bought these about six weeks ago and went ahead and ordered my regular size without being able to try on a pair. I was considering the Red Wings that are somewhat comparable but much more expensive. I decided to take a gamble on these because I wanted a good durable boot that was made in the U.S.A. These are very beautiful boots if you like the style. They look better than the pictures in fact. Very heavy duty etc. I carefully cut off the little U.S.A. flag tags (see photos) with an exacto…

Pros
  • Resistant to abrasions and scuffs, ensuring your boots remain looking great for longer
Cons
  • The boots may become slippery when wet, increasing the risk of falls and injuries

A few months before buying my first pair of Thorogood boots I bought a pair of brown Red Wing Irish Setter 6" work boots. By the end of my first day wearing them at my stand-up desk at work, I already knew they were the most comfortable shoes I've worn in my 46-year life. Better than Doc Martens, better than Nikes, better than everything else for all-day comfort and lack of fatigue. I love them so much I wanted a pair in black—though there was no way I was gonna pay $300 for high-end Red…

Pros
  • Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
Cons
  • The boots do not come in a wide variety of colors or styles to choose from

The search is on in my review

Well….I’ve loved my thorogood moc toes for about 3-4 years now at least. Gone through more than a few pair…typcially I get them resolved at east once and sometimes twice. The wedge does not last long at all. I wear out the outside rear hee quickly and generally 5-6 months is all I get if that. But….it’s a small price to pay for a boot that you love. But now it seems I have to find a different wedge boot….the insides just fall apart at the toe box. I’ve actually had a few toe issues because if…

Pros
  • Slip-resistant wedge outsole provides excellent grip on various surfaces, preventing slips and falls
Cons
  • The boots may not fit true to size, which can be frustrating for those who need to order them online

New issue on my favorite boots

Ordered two new pairs of boots and on both pairs of boots the lace rivets are pulling through the leather. It seems like the leather is too thin or too soft or the rivet machine isn’t working properly. Either way I’ll order another pair and replace these and hopefully the issue has been corrected. Owned several pairs of these boots, have always been great boots but like always, things seem to change. Hopefully this isn’t a decision a company made to save money

Pros
  • Breathable lining helps to keep your feet cool and dry, even during extended wear
Cons
  • The boots do not provide much ankle support and may increase the risk of injuries

Great fit out of the box!

I wear a size 13 in most other boots and shoes. I have had hit and miss luck with laced boots, however. I ordered a pair of 13d and 13EE and the 13 D'S are perfect. The EEs are huge. If the 13 D's were still too big, I'd imagine a 12EE would be the next logical choice. I laced em up and started walking around the house for about an hour and then realized I had errands to run and forgot to change my shoes. I didn't even really notice until I got in the car and put my feet on the pedals. I went…

Pros
  • Stylish and versatile design allows you to wear them on and off the job site
Cons
  • The boots may not be suitable for those with wide or narrow feet, as they may not offer proper fit

I'm now a believer in wedge soles

I've tried sooooo many brands of boots and nothing but my ugly shameful Crocs make my feet feel good. (wolverene, redwing, RW iron rangers, danners, timberland pro.)I'm a farmer so I go from shop concrete with lots of squatting, to field work with mud and ditches, to climbing in and out of equipment all day. When i stand on concrete with any other boots for more than 10min the arch of my feet start killing me and eventually they'll strain a muscle and I limp for a week. These boots have solved…

Pros
  • Lightweight construction makes it easy to move around, reducing strain on your feet
Cons
  • The boots may not provide enough protection for those working in hazardous or high-risk environments

Monst comfortable boots you'll find.

Great boot. I keep the laces and insoles as a back up and replace them with ironlaces and Dr Scholl's gel insoles for men over 200lbs. I then lube them up really well with Obenaufs and lace them really tight and walk around to loosen the leather up. I clean and lube them everyday after work for the first week. Once that is over having these boots on is like wearing tennis shoes. The quality of the boot and the comfort just cannot be beat. I've tried redwing and Danner but since I got my first…

Pros
  • Industrial & Construction Boots
Cons
  • The boots may take some time to break-in, which can be uncomfortable for some wearers

Just Awesome! best in my review

I never write reviews, but I feel I owe it to Thorogood to let people know just how awesome there boots are! I’m a greens superintendent at a golf course. I put work boots thru the test! I’ve purchased Danner, etc, etc spending hundreds every year. THESE ARE THE BEST WORK BOOTS… PERIOD! Beyond comfortable, beyond everything I’ve ever looked for in a work boot. What is totally crazy is they still smell like new! My wife used to make me wash my feet before entering the house after a long hard…

Pros
  • Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, offering versatility and flexibility
Cons
  • The boots may leave scuff marks on floors, which can be problematic for those who work in professional settings

best bet for small feet

I've had these boots for three months now and I really like them. I spend a lot of my workday outside in upstate NY and so far they're super warm with the right socks. They're really comfortable now that they're well broken in but it definitely took a while for them to soften up. Pretty waterproof after waxing too.Regarding sizing; I have small feet and found these as my best bet for getting a nice leather work boot that would fit. Most of the women's boots from similar companies aren't made in

Pros
  • EH rated for maximum protection against electrical hazards
Cons
  • The boots are not very easy to clean, which may make them appear dirty or worn-out with regular use

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This is a great Boot.

Im in construction and I'm very tough on boots. I've tried just about all the name brands and they just didn't fit good or took forever too break in.Over the years all the boots seemed to go composite. I was lucky to get a year out of them. Well it was time to spend money on boots again so I figured I'd use Ebay to see what was out there and maybe find a deal.I ran across Thorogood and couldn't believe they still made an all leather boot. Mater of fact I bought an all leather Thorogood years…

Pros
  • Men
Cons
  • The slip-resistant wedge outsole does not provide much traction on slippery surfaces

Perfect boots: my feedback

These broke in quite quickly. Not much of a process though this leather is thicker than some other models they have. Honestly, I don’t know why I waited so long to get a pair. I’ll maintain these as long as I can and may never switch brands.

Pros
  • I’ve been in the construction trades for 25 years, Thorogood are my favorite, by far.
Cons
  • The boots are not very breathable, which may lead to sweaty feet and bad odors

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well. you definitely get your exact size lol

I'd suggest a half size up for a more comfortable break in. For me it's an exact fit all right, hoping after a break in period they'll fit a bit more loose. Other than that, they're pretty dang good, solid build.

Pros
  • Work & Utility
Cons
  • The boots are not water-resistant, which may be a problem for those who work in wet conditions

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Local legends in my review

1-2 weeks break in period. Worth every second. Once they really fit you’ll know. Wear WOOL socks…particularly ones with a LIFETIME guarantee…like darn tough. Just a suggestion.

Pros
  • Comfort insole helps to reduce fatigue and foot pain, allowing you to focus on your work
Cons
  • The boots may cause blisters or chafing when worn for long periods without breaks

Best boots ever and made in AMERICA

These are the most comfortable workboots out of the box that I have ever owned. True to size. And, most importantly, made in America 🇺🇸

Pros
  • Roomy toe box ensures optimal comfort and prevents cramped toes
Cons
  • The EH (electrical hazard) rating on the boots is not very high, which may be a concern for some wearers
