I love these shoes. Walked through mud, puddles (within reason) recently, no problems, feet and socks are dry! Soils are excellent, traction is the same as good radial tires, road holding is confident. Winter can't stop these shoes. (New York area)
Either the shoes are bad or I got a bad one. They started falling apart after two weeks of normal wear. They were waterproof until they started falling apart. Now they are not waterproof. Wouldn't recommend to anyone if they fall apart like that. I contacted Merrell but they never replied. Really disappointing in a company I really liked.
Like most other Merrell sneakers, they fit great. And immodestly I think they look great. A little heavier than I expected. More of a lightweight hiking shoe than a sneaker (as mentioned on the site). Disclaimer: I haven't tested how waterproof they are yet. All in all, I'm glad I have them.
I've been a big fan of Merrell shoes for many years. While these are good shoes, they are not as good as all my other Merrells. They are comfortable but not as comfortable as others. They only have one ear at the top. I think they cut corners.
I've had these shoes for a little over a month. Water resistance is excellent. They are comfortable and not hot. I feel comfortable wearing them. But for the price they fall apart after a month. The toe is separated from the boot. I'm not dragging my feet anywhere. The rest is normal wear and tear. This is really unacceptable for shoes that should be of high quality.
I think this is a great shoe for walking on any terrain, with great grip and a firm footing. I always feel like my foot is firmly planted on the ground, as stable as every hiking shoe I've had but less heavy and bulky. In my experience, it was comfortable to use all day. It's a bit small so I ordered the next size up a half size and it worked fine. I didn't hear the "whistle" that some people report when walking - maybe Merrell solved that problem? Highly recommended.
