Description of Messermeister Moritz Elite Utility 6 Inch

The German 1.4116 high-carbon, stainless alloy blade resists stains and corrosion, exhibits toughness and durability, holds its edge retention, and is easy to re-sharpen to a razor-like edge. This knife line is one-piece, hot-drop hammer forged, which produces the strongest blade from heel to tip. The blades are heat treated and cooled to achieve a Rockwell of 57-58. The three-step, 15 degree “Elite" edge is hand stropped on a cloth wheel, creating the sharpest possible cutting surface on an edged tool. The bolsterless heel simplifies all cutting, sharpening & honing tasks, making use of the entire blade from heel to tip. Handcrafted in the historic cutlery capital of Solingen, Germany.The Knife for Life guarantee provides a lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects.

Disappointing Performance for Kitchen Knife

The knife we purchased did not meet our expectations. Based on our own experience, it was not sharp enough to easily slice through meat or vegetables.While it was lightweight, it felt flimsy and poorly constructed. The home and kitchen product failed to perform to our standards and we will not be recommending it to others..

Why Messermeister San Moritz Elite knives are standard tools in my kitchen

I needed to replace my previous San Moritz Elite 6 inch utility knife that I bought 10 years ago. First he fell on the handle of the stone floor. The handle broke, making the knife impossible. I have a set of these knives and I "can't" cook without them. So it had to be replaced. Thank goodness it's still made with the same characteristics as my original knife.
