I WILL BRING THIS ANTENNA TO MY 1997 C230 MBZ. THE ORIGINAL ANTENNA GIVED UP ONE YEAR AGO. THE PLASTIC MECHANISM IS WORN (C-CLASS MEDIUM ECONOMY) AND I ONLY HAVE 70,000 ON THE ODOMETER. THIS ANTENNA STILL WORKS BUT THE RECEPTION IS NOT THE GREATEST. AFTER A FEW MONTHS AFTER INSTALLATION, THIS ANTENNA WILL NOT RETURN COMPLETELY. EXPRESSES APPROXIMATELY 2 INCHES.

Installation requires certain skills. There is some custom work, this is no coincidence. You have to measure twice etc. So far the antenna seems reliable and works well. My only complaint is that it's quite noisy. I installed this on an '86 Mazda B2000 and it definitely lets you know it's there when it goes up and down. Fairly easy installation (no instructions included but if you look at the old one and take notes before removing it the replacement won't be difficult). The only reason I don't give it the full five stars is that it's too easy to accidentally over-tighten the nut holding the gasket and bezel to the body. Don't know what to say. The wiring in my car seems to work - 12 volts on one wire always - 12 volts on the second wire only when the radio is on - ground tests are good. However, this block only lengthens when both wires of the block are connected to 12 volts on a constant wire. It will fail if any of the wires from the device are only connected to the 12 volt wire.
