I've used it with my Santa Fe and Sony XAV-AX5000

I didn't want to modify the car in any way so I made an adaptor. You must have soldering skills to do this. Also, I recommend soldering and shrinking instead of crimping. This is a much stronger and more reliable connection.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Works as intended: Auto AV installation

Metra wiring harnesses are always good. Connect the speaker wires to the RCA connectors if your Kia Soul has a factory amp so you can connect it to the aftermarket head unit's preamp, otherwise you will clip the speakers and the volume control will be loud. all volumes.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Damaged

Not enough pins on connector C

This harness adapter is a standard set of ISO blocks with replacement of a pin on connector A/B for Hyundai. Unfortunately, not all contacts are assigned in block C (red connector). This means you can't connect to the existing USB and Aux ports that many of these cars have. While a single pin supports steering wheel controls, it would make more sense for them to include all pins, or at least the connecting wires.

Cons, but can be made to work.

This was the third adapter ordered for my partner's car and the first one I received with no modifications. Unfortunately the radio was bad, but at least I'll have the right wiring harness when the replacement unit arrives. This is the correct wiring harness for the Sportage 09 with factory navigation. Update: After a few hours of swearing and researching, I found that the problem is in the red part of the seat belt. Wiring harness for Kia audio system with amplifier not fastened correctly. If…

  • High marks for support and durability from testers

  • Definitely a bad product

Incomplete: car audio and video installation

no cables. As you can see in the picture, only one wire comes out of the red connector. There should be about 10 more wires connected to the steering wheel controls, USB port, AUX port and others. I contacted Metra about this and they basically shrugged.

Easy install best in Radio Harness

Fits perfectly. My only complaint is that I would like them to send some "pens" to use in the red harness. I had to make connections to several other wires coming out of the car and spent a heck of a lot of time tracing the pins I could use to assemble this harness. By the way, Radio Shack can help with that. I also wish the cables coming out of the wire harnesses were a little longer, but overall they're good enough.

Pros
  • Radio Harness
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other kits

Love it. Perfect fit and function

I have a 2009 Hyundai. I've been looking for a wiring harness for a long time. All I could find was for the new Hyundai 2010+ or it wasn't even the same car. I've seen comments on this red wiring harness that only has one wire so I hesitated to buy it but it fits perfectly and the overall sound and everything works fine. Now I have neither an amplifier nor a steering wheel, maybe that's why I didn't notice anything.

Pros
  • Auto and Electronics
Cons
  • Expensive
