🚗 Metra 95-8248B Double DIN Dash Kit: Enhanced Dashboard Solution for 2014-Up Toyota Highlander Vehicles (Black) Review

The tongue on the dashboard is broken. Ordered 2 times, both broken in the same place. The box is not damaged at all so I'm guessing it was broken before packing/shipping. Twice. Third time charm?

I have fitted numerous aftermarket car stereos and have found that these kits are either of poor quality or just 'sort of' fit and often need modification. Not in this case. It is well finished and very happy with how it looks once fitted.

Poor plastic and has a coating that I know will peel off over time. American International has handled it better in many ways. Better side mount, better finish, better fit with less wiggle room, flipped, less prone to snagging, better flat design, plastic is just better for Ai, I took that and switched to American International. To clarify: AI has its disadvantages, but it is better in the above parameters.

Instructions basically 1) Install the fairing clips on the new head unit 2) Install the side brackets 3) Install the fairing bracket. that's all. But to make matters worse, the trim ring can't be properly centered on the new head unit's screen - they have thin gaps on both the sides and top/bottom, just enough for you to see light through the small gaps at night. I've installed 15-20 aftermarket radios and this is by far the worst fairing kit I've seen.
