📻 Metra Electronics 99-5839CH: Unleash Seamless Aftermarket Radio Installation with this Dash Kit Review

Very buggy and often factory reset. We already have 2 of them behind us. I would avoid unless you're replacing and don't have a choice. It's very poorly made, the screen isn't positioned properly, it doesn't respond well to touch, and there's a lot of markup on it.

The first unit that arrived was junk. I will come back and try again. The unit runs for about 5 minutes and then loses control of the air conditioning for over 30 minutes, emitting 90 degree heat uncontrollably. Then he will work for a few minutes and return to you in the sauna. I'm assuming it's a poorly made memory chip or bad programming.

my mustang gt is a paxton with boost and performance tuned with the SCT X4 programmer and after many times I've had to disassemble the dash and pull the plug, to reset this thing i called metra tech support and they said i'm sorry it doesn't work if your aftermarket car is set up. we can't help you wtf. it was supposed to be in the description and it was a huge waste of time and money.

This gets 1 star because I can't put a zero. This product lasted TWO MONTHS before failing. You have to pay to install it and pay to get it. The stereo store refuses to even sell this product because it fails after a few months. I bought a 1 year warranty for this product and they tell me that there is no more warranty even though I have 3 months left? I would stay away from this product and this company.

Again, you don't need to buy anything other than the receiver along with this kit. I also bought an antenna adapter because someone on this site said you need one, but it came with the package so now I have to try to return it. Does the job. Before installing you need to check for updates and 2 out of 2 devices didn't have a cable to connect the remote control to the steering wheel. The manual is missing some features and the installation guide is outdated. You must download the latest version of Metra. Contacted tech support twice, got fast and quality answers. Once you figure it out, this is a good product. A bit pricey compared to the older versions offered by Metra.
