Battery Parasitic Discharge

Something in the digital harness is not working properly. After trying a few different troubleshooting steps, including using a multimeter to test each positive lead and draining the battery multiple times, I give up. The app also doesn't work with the update.

Pros
  • Good Value
Cons
  • Not Sure

Can not fit 2014 Ford Escape 8 " Touch Screen

I have a 2014 Ford Escape 8" Touch Screen and have concluded that THIS FAIRING DOES NOT NEED AN AFTERMARKET ADJUSTER OR INSTRUMENT KIT ARE ! ONLY IF YOU HAVE A 4" screen this will 'supposedly' work. The first choice is the main harness behind the touch screen and the second choice is two behind the CD player.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Specifications
Cons
  • Good but not great

Do not buy! Doesn't work - Technical support doesn't work. Worthless

I received this to replace a 2015 Ford Transit Connect radio. When I made the connections the new radio was 4.5 volts. Round trip with tech support is a VERY long wait. Then when I go to return it, the return expires, so I'm stuck! Zero satisfaction with this $46 purchase!

Doesn't work well with timing

Received this due to questions posted saying it would work with timing if you get SW1 too. After looking at poorly written questions I found SW1 useless so I ruled it out. I don't have steering wheel controls. I gave 2 stars because I got the radio working which at least is better than the sync. The only thing I really miss is the ability to adjust the volume and set the clock to daylight saving time. I want to find the best option.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I really don't like it it's ok

Battery discharge and static

I installed this in a 2014 Ford Transit Connect van. When others found here a box that interprets canbus for connection to radio the battery drained fast enough to kill the battery in 2 days parked on a new battery. It also oddly added a lot of static noise to the speakers. At volume 4 on my Alpine unit, the static white noise was louder than the music. Since I have a base van with no timing and don't care about speed, reverse, park wire or factory auxiliary power, I just plugged in extraโ€ฆ

Works good but cheap plastic

I installed it in my wife's car so it's good it works. The main problem was that after a dry fit on the car, the lower part of the wiring harness snapped. Very cheap plastic, just beware. Second, the instructions were a badly cut piece of paper with the wording cut out, and the included instructions for ASWC didn't have anything that fit in the box inside the package. Only two, and at first I didn't guess. But her steering wheel controls still don't work. However, I could be missing somethingโ€ฆ

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Neat adapter kit: car AV installation

Installed a non-genuine JVC KD-X260BT stereo in a 2015 Ford Fiesta S with minimal issues. The weird thing is that the wiring harness has two 12-pin adapters. one is for use ONLY with the ASWC module (sold separately), the other for the included small box. Make sure to connect the one that came with the kit if you did NOT purchase the ASWC module. Everything seems to work correctly. Still waiting for the Metra dash kit for the single din. I'll test it after installation and in a few days we'llโ€ฆ
