🌮 IMUSA USA Terracota Tortilla Warmer – Keep Your Tortillas Warm in Style! Review

This is not what was advertised. These heating pads were supposed to be made in South America, but instead they are made in China. This is obviously a false statement. I'll go back and look elsewhere. Revane doesn't seem to be able to stop things like this.

I like this flatbread warmer. I also use it for waffles. It reminds me of the one I bought at the store for a dollar, but the quality is much higher. One tip I want to pass on is that I wrapped a rubber band around the handle to make removing the lid easier.

I liked this $4.99 item more than I could have imagined. I bought this to reheat the tortillas but the package said you can use it to reheat the tortillas by placing the paper towel under the tortillas and microwave it for 20-30 seconds with the lid open. Then put it on and if you want you can have warm, soft tortillas without having to put them on the stovetop or in a saucepan.

This is one of those items that someone designs but has never used themselves. It's great in terms of build quality and thickness (thin cracks) and is easy to clean, but try lifting the top with your fingers, you can't because the small round latch in the center is about 1/4" tall, tapers inward (not outward) and is very slippery. I love tacos or even just corn tortillas with every meal. But nothing spoils them like a dry, crumbly cake. I've seen some tortilla warmers at much higher prices, but for $4.88 (an additional item I was going to order anyway) I figured why not? That's cool! I used to warm my tortillas in foil in the oven. I had no idea how to properly reheat the tortillas (wet cloth, nuke for x time). This is a really economical way to keep tortillas warm until ready to eat. This small tortilla warmer keeps tortillas warm for up to an hour. I've used it at least a dozen times since buying it and now I wonder how I ever lived without it. We eat a lot of corn tortillas (fish taco fanatics). I've had this tortilla warmer for two weeks and believe me I've used it well since I've had it, that is about 60 cakes got nice sauna treatments have in this heating pad ;) they become perfectly soft and then stay warm for about 10 minutes. I wrap my tortillas in a pretty napkin my mother-in-law gave me (that's the perk of being a Mexican mother-in-law) and heat each tortilla for 12 seconds (so for example if you put 4 tortillas in, you'll cook your microwave for 48 seconds).
