Full 1.8-30MHz Operation Custom designed inductor switch, 1000 volt tuning capacitors, Teflon insulation washers and proper L/C ratio gives you arc-free no worries operation with up to 300 Watts 1.8 to 30 MHz. Tunes any Antenna Tunes out SWR on dipoles, verticals, inverted vees, random wires, beams, mobile whips, shortwave receiving antennas. Nearly anything! Use coax, random wire or balanced lines. Has heavy duty 4:1 balun. Custom Inductor Switch The inductor switch is the most likely component to burn up in any antenna tuner. MFJs inductor switch in the MFJ-949E was custom designed to withstand the extremely high RF voltages and currents that are developed in your tuner. 8 Position Super Antenna Switch Lets you select two coax fed antennas, random wire/balanced line or built-in dummy load through your MFJ-949E or direct to your transceiver. More hams use MFJ-949s than any other antenna tuner in the world! Has MFJs full size 3 inch lighted Cross Needle Meter (not a puny "meter" you cant read). Lets you easily read SWR, true peak forward and average reflected power simultaneously on 300 Watt or 30 Watt ranges. Lamp has on/off switch, requires 12 VDC or 110 VAC with MFJ-1312D (Not included).

It is what it is.: CB and Talkback Radios

I bought this to use with a MFJ multi-band HF vertical antenna. The information says it will fit any antenna. NOT CORRECT! On 15m I had an SWR of 1.1:1, all other bands were infinity or almost infinity. However, I think the tuner is good, I think the antenna is crap. I also have an MFJ 949C (a bit older) and it works pretty much the same as the MFJ 949E. I'm going to drop the MFJ vertically and put in a G5RV. I'm sure the tuner will work with it.

MFJ-949E Deluxe Versa Tuner II

This product is designed to adapt an antenna to a CB radio to provide a perfect standing wave ratio with no reflection. was developed for this antenna tuner which is likely to give a one to one standing wave ratio between each radio and each antenna. I am very happy with it and would highly recommend it to other CB radio enthusiasts and radio amateurs who want a great antenna match, it's easy to use and good value for money

NO SUPPORT! Supply all necessary connections!

For Pete! I spent $200 and you can't even turn on a 12" coax. What? It'll cost you another 50 cents. Now I still have to order cable or drive 45 minutes one way to the only Ham Radio Outlet in my town. Just cheap cheap cheap. Well I am revising my rating to 1 star. I called both technical service and the factory number. The first was a mobile number that was not a service number (tried 3 times). The second was a cell phone with no mailbox configured. Ordinary lousy MFJ series.

MFJ needs some quality control

Received my tuner quickly, it was well packaged and had no damage in transit. Overall happy with the deal. My order was completed by GigaParts and shipped quickly. However, the product itself urgently requires increased quality control by the manufacturer. MFJ has a dubious reputation and it's obvious that they have a hard time finding the balance between quality and low prices. I would have preferred if they would spend a little more on the quality control process even if it means they chargeโ€ฆ
