Fantastic and easy installation

I bought 2 of these for the range and weather channel function. After installing one indoors with a power bank and using it as a base station and one in my Polaris Ranger. I'm very happy with the range and clarity. The front USB charging port is handy and the ability to mount an external speaker (which isn't needed) along with the weather channel and the ability to connect to portable handheld devices are great features.

Portable audio video radio

We have bought about 6 of these at different times. They worked great and the company let us return one because the mic didn't work. The microphone is small and light. They can be found in our tractors, work vehicles and Stinger trucks. I've noticed that sometimes the mic goes off and when you're farming it's very important that people can always hear you. I wish you could replace the microphone without buying the whole device. I worry about the future if she or they will have problems. That's…

Great radio! - CB and radio equipment

Excellent radio! Very easy to install and configure. Don't worry about the size of the standard antenna (about 6 inches), it removes perfectly and stays on the roof of my truck at 70mph. I can turn on repeaters about 25 miles away and I live in the country about 20 minutes from a medium sized subway. Using this radio on a simplex will likely cover you 8-10 miles in the country depending on the area. If there are repeaters in your area, you will get a much wider range. I made contacts through…

Built-in 3.4dB attenuator!

Nice little radio. Unexpected Feature: The Confidential Tone setting applies to both transmission and reception. If you only want to communicate with a limited group, that's fine. But for a community relay, where the owner assigns each family a unique CTCSS access tone, this is a problem. I can only hear my family unless I put the radio in "monitor mode" which opens the squelch. Then I hear others, but the open squelch drives me insane. The unit came with a nice magnetically attached antenna…

Overpriced but otherwise good.

150€ seems a bit expensive for a 15 watt radio with almost no function (from the point of view of a radio amateur). When I first opened it I was very impressed. Feels very sturdy and is well made. Once I started using it, I found that it had a few downsides. First, the sound quality from the transceiver's built-in speaker itself is pretty poor. No problem I thought, I'll just switch it to a remote speaker. Well after an hour of unsuccessfully trying to figure out how to do it, I opened it up…

Overpriced CB and Radio Equipment

I am writing as the recipient of this gift. Others claim clarity and higher fidelity than cb? I found it overpriced for what you get. As it's no better than the cb package you can buy for around $70. The squelch doesn't seem to work very well and you have to stop to adjust it. The volume of the speaker is not up to standards, it is barely audible at full volume. I have not found anything better than cb clarity and fidelity. In addition, to use some channels, you need to buy a license, which…

The best return on your money.

I installed this device in my car for general communication while driving 4 wheels or just chatting with friends. I have been using CB radios for many years but wanted to upgrade to something more reliable. I have to say I'm amazed at the range and quality of this little radio. With the standard antenna I can get a mile and a half to two in densely built suburban areas and a little under a mile in the city (this was a transfer to a smaller portable in the middle lane). Outdoors, I was able to…

Short range/poor sound quality/poor customer support

Bought for a cheap phone for basic use. The best range without a sharp break is probably 2 miles line of sight. I even used a 6dB antenna on top of the car. I returned to local radio station KC Midland due to a known gain issue. Here they "fix" the problem by removing the weather radio function to increase reception gain. Didn't notice any difference. I was also told that I will be getting a replacement when the new models come out in Fall 2018. When I returned to their NKC office to request an

Amazing little 2 way!

I first bought one of these radios to solve problems with instantaneous communication between my parents' house and my camp in the Grand Canyon caves. This area of rural Arizona has very, very little cell service. I already had a couple of Midland X-Talkers to connect this radio to. The campsite is 4.2 km as the crow flies from my parents' house. The terrain is hilly, scattered with shrubby oaks. I could only hear them when they drove up their hill, which is about 75 meters closer than their…
