Perfect solution for pouring liquid from a 5 gallon Hedpack jug

It took me a while to figure out how to drill a hole in the lid (thanks for answering my question ). I drilled a 3/4" hole in the center of the cap and then just screwed the bushing into the cap. There is a gasket between the bushing and the cap that provides a seal so no thread tape is required. I like that Fact that the spout is vented so there is no splashing or "boule, boule, boule" - the water flows out smoothly.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • unreliable

I am ordering this with Tolco 2.5 gallon plastic dispenser thinking I could swap out the spout for a larger one. Well it doesn't fit or my husband and I can't figure out how it happens. We tried several ways. If you can explain, I'll try again and rewrite my review. But if it doesn't fit, it was a waste of money and not worth returning when shipping is FREE! Sorry, I really hate writing bad reviews and I try really hard not to.

Pros
  • Datura ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Having trouble

Does the job, but not easy.

I order that the jugs do not leak, we must fight this thing in such a way that I cannot remove it myself. And I'm a professional pianist. And I play difficult stuff. Rachmaninoff. My husband has been a professional carpenter and locksmith for many years and his hands could crush a small SUV. So if you don't have such jars at home, you'd better get something you don't have to bother with. We'll probably use these jugs with this faucet until I get mad at it and then buy something else.

  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Hedpack - vent not working but tank already has one - needs to be drilled

Whilst valve works exactly as expected, fits etc small air jet to prevent gurgling does nothing at all. Luckily, if you buy the 5-gallon Hedpack water jug to go with it, the jug itself has a vent so that's not a problem. Keep in mind that I had to use a 1-inch step drill with the Hedpack's 5-gallon jar. Minimum diameter) for drilling out the cover, since the thread on the cover is empty. You need to make some changes to make this work. Once this happens everything will be perfect - no leaksโ€ฆ

The faucet works but there is no ventilation.

Excellent as a faucet. But like a little faucet, okay. Just make sure you vent the bottle to let air in or you'll block it. Bought 2. They feel durable. Can not complain. Remember you will need a drill to cut the hole in the bottle cap. I've seen people outraged by this. Why, I'm not sure. Because it's not the faucet manufacturer's fault you didn't think you had to drill a hole in a solid piece of plastic to insert a faucet. It gets 3* because it works decent enough as a faucet. It doesn't getโ€ฆ

The best valve available for these tanks

I didn't realize this when I bought it, but the entire valve rotates about the same axis as the threads on the tank. This means you can tighten it and still have the valve pointing down! The valve itself opens and closes very easily in a controlled manner. Great success. For any people complaining about having to drill out the lid on the jug, I only recommend flipping the lid over and opening it from the back. You can poke a few small holes and take it out, use a big drill and stop as soon asโ€ฆ

  • Obsolete model

Works perfectly! - Plumbing

The hardest part was drilling a hole in the big cap of the bottle. The bottle has a small spot where I can poke an air hole and it comes with a small cap to keep it closed. I found that they have devised a way for the air to return from the faucet to the bottle when the water comes out. Pouring a small hole in the bottle helps the water come out quicker, but for my purposes it's not much different. Now it's not the faucet's fault, but I have found that I have to be careful when screwing the cap
