Great router for home IT network

I bought this router because it combines 8 ports, a great price, and the features I need. As an IT pro with some understanding of networks (DHCP, DNS, nothing like that, routing is done for you out of the box, or you can read the documentation) I was able to get it to do what I needed. . The UI is pretty reasonable once you get used to it. It's been reliable, haven't had any issues with it in the last year, never had to restart to fix problems or anything like that. One note - I haven't used it

Cons

SO MANY BUTTONS ON NETWORK PRODUCTS

The configuration is not for the faint of heart. This router is literally the best home router I've ever had. It's not for the faint of heart - so buyers beware; Make friends with MikroTik forums and guides. you will be lost The installation wizard will help you set up the most basic functional configurations for LAN/WLAN in no time, but in a nutshell "SO MANY BUTTONS".

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Router Mikrotik pro for SOHO

The router was delivered on time so thanks to SIL MICRO. However, as many people have already noticed, the LCD screen does not work well. Basically it's useless. Like I said, I don't really use it anyway. But it seems to me that this is a production problem. I can return it but don't see a need. The router is definitely not a standard custom router. It is complicated and the manual and information is not complete. This means that if you have not used such a router before, you will have to spend

I love microtics. I have a bad LCD

Don't buy these if you only have experience with consumer devices like Linksys or Netgear. you will be lost If you use pfsense, adtran, cisco (rack mount), junos, you will like them for their price. We use them in the field by the hundreds. I really like the setting options. This device is ideal for home use or small businesses. I would have preferred rack mounting, but I can't justify so many ports, plus you lose the built-in hotspot. The only reason I give 4 stars is that the LCD was pressure

Great little Level 3 device.

This CRS works in my living room and HEX in my basement. OSPF is configured between them and works fine. The associated trunk ports on both routers connected to the Cisco managed switches are working without any issues. I am using a Cisco SFP copper module on my CRS as an uplink to my hEX. I configured multiple VLANs on both devices and an isolated guest VLAN. You must enable UPNP or port forwarding if you have Directv services or game consoles on your network. If I have a complaint about their

Highly functional integrated router/switch. Bear for customization.

One of these has been running on my home network for several years. It is extremely efficient and offers very advanced networking features. However, if you need to move away from the integrated configuration of a simple wireless network and switch, you need experience in a CCNA layer network. The documentation on how it works is fragmented and some topics are not well covered. It's been a few years but I found their forum useless as my questions weren't answered. I've finally learned enough…

Unbeatable MikroTik

I love these routers. But they are definitely not for beginners. MikroTik routers are designed for professionals and are NOT shipped in a secure configuration. RouterOS (router operating system) is extremely powerful and customizable, but it's probably too much for the average person.

Cons
  • unreliable

If you know what you're doing, that's what you want.

I discovered Mikrotik hardware while looking for a small business firewall. If you are looking for something that does everything Mikrotik RouterOS promises, the price is so cheap that you simply have to try it. After playing around with it for a while, you'll find that the feature set is well worth it. Important note: If you're just looking for a home device that you plug in and it works, this will likely do what you need, but the configuration may be overwhelming for users without serious…

Good buy router - router

This router/switch is a good buy and works well as an access point in a den that is upstairs and away from the main modem/router.</p>
