Best value for money

You won't find another router with this kind of functionality and performance at this price point. I upgraded my internet access at home to 1000 Mbps, but I didn't see more than 200 Mbps unless I connected directly to a modem. After installing and configuring this router/firewall/NTP server/cached DNS server etc., I keep seeing >800 Mbps. As other people have pointed out, it has a design flaw. The power connector on the circuit board is too far from the chassis for a proper power connection.

  • Nice packaging

If you're looking for a device that's easy to set up and customize

If you're looking for a device that's easy to set up and customize, come back now and check out Ubuquiti. I am very happy with this router. It has all the features you could want from a router, it can switch at least 4Gbps over multiple ports, and it has low power consumption. It has all the qualities of an enterprise-class device at an enterprise price. The only major downside is that many of the configuration options are unintuitive, hidden, or not visible in the GUI. There are also some…

can you say bargain Knew you could

Bought their wireless version I believe the 2011 wireless model a few years ago. Was flawless. It has all the tweaks you've been looking for and once you get the hang of the firewall. There's no turning back. Programmed by Cisco, Sophos, Watchguard, Checkpoint, D-Link, Netgear, Juniper, Zyxel, Umbiquiti, ITT and some probably forgot. But overall it's the best balance of endless possibilities and growth for my needs. RouterOS is pretty exciting as it has been on the rise for over 20 years. One…

Great product in Computers & Accessories

I am a professional engineer in the sense that my remote work consumes quite a lot of bandwidth every day (multiple computers with multiple VPNs, many connected devices). Having bought and set up a router a few months ago, I kick myself for not having done it sooner. Not only does it do exactly what I need, I found the RouterOS CLI to be fairly intuitive to learn and use. Metrics are also great for debugging errors and analyzing usage. Looking at the server logs, I found that an IP address in…

Works great

Was easy to set up. The IPtables type setting won't please many people, but I prefer it over the simplified versions. The screen can be turned off, which is good. Doesn't get hot even with 22 devices connected to 1 Gb/s fiber optic internet. This is the most decent price for the cost of a router I've ever had. Works out of the box with UnifiPro hotspot. The LAN transfer speed is amazing. No choking thanks to good packet throughput. I was able to send real-time logs to the Splunk instance to…

Cons
  • Some little things

I am a subsidiary of a multinational MSP and have deployed hundreds of Mikrotik devices. In short, this is the best value for money router for SMBs. The RB3011 is a real monster router for the price. $170 for 1U 10-port Gigabit, SFP and potential 6Gb/s WAN>LAN throughput. Although none of the ports can go faster than 1 Gbps, the computing power is still there. When I did a spec comparison between this and, for example, the equivalent Sonicwall (already cheaper hardware), it cost $170 for the
