Woodland MindShift Gear BackLight Camera Bag Review

I think the name says it all. Works perfectly. I took the small one because I rarely carry more than two lenses with me. I don't think the little one will fit a 24-70 2.8 lens on one camera, two smaller lenses and a 70-200 2.8.

I have a smaller camera (DSLR with 3 lenses). There is space for the camera, lenses and accessories such as a lens hood and charger. The waist belt really helps distribute the weight making it easy to carry without straining your back.

I still have an 18L Mindshift bag which is great but doesn't open at the back so I wanted this bag because I thought that all other parts would be the same. They weren't. The inner pockets were much smaller - so small that you couldn't even put anything in them. To open the main compartment on the back, the shoulder straps get in the way and have to be folded down completely to get into the junk I'm in. Very disappointing.

I bought MindShift Gear Backlight 18L because 26L was too big for my torso. I loved everything about the 18L except the 18.5 inch, it was still too long and I kept pulling my pants up so I went back and bought a ThinkTank Street Walker V 2.0. The Street Walker, although 18.5 inches, fit me differently and was larger. cozy. I would still prefer the 18L for its front access, but comfort is more important. Both ThinkTank and MindShift Gear are great products.

I bought this backpack primarily to carry gear around town. For that it works fine. Maybe I'll try a real hike with him soon. It needs to be hacked before I can tell if it's practical or not. The straps are quite stiff like many backpacks when new. It holds my GH5 and 4 lenses perfectly. Microphone and other accessories not crammed inside. We bought this backpack for a trip to Uganda and used it to track down gorillas, chimpanzees and golden monkeys in the cool jungle for a more traditional car safari. Very comfortable, padded shoulder and hip straps make it easy to hike for hours, even with a fully loaded backpack.
