This product is a cable adapter

I was disappointed when I first opened the package and was expecting a plug with electrical connection as shown in the picture. My disappointment didn't last long as my cable slipped in and seemed tight enough. It was easy to install and works great for what I wanted it for. I would advise the seller to include a photo of the item so we have better expectations.

Pros
  • cool product

Holds the charging cable badly at the back!

Great price. Ease of installation. The cable on my charger is not held in place by the clamping mechanism on the back and when you try to insert the extension it pushes the cable prongs back and makes no contact. I have to squeeze the cable on the back while connecting it to the power supply. I even wrapped tape around the charger cord to make it thicker, but it's still not big enough. I even have a MinnKota charger so you would think they would be a perfect match.

  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Nothing

Good product, clean look.

A very good way to access the MinnKota charger's power connector. Hold the fork. Just in case, I wrapped the clip with plastic tape. The instructions say to drill a 1 7/8" diameter hole. Did the first one and there was very little room left for the 3 mounting screws. Concern. Second, I have a 1 3/4" diameter hole drilled and widened it with a small drum sander on my drill press for a perfect fit, and then the 3 mounting holes got enough support. It took a few minutes but it was worth it.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine

UNFLANGED ENTRANCE - SUITABLE FOR MINNKOTA CHARGERS

I should have taken a picture of the unit before fitting it. The block is an empty shell. You install the charger and route the power cord to where you need the outlet. Drill a hole. PASS the power cord THROUGH the opening. The clip has a small pin that fits into a hole in the connector. I had to clean up the hole a bit as the melted plastic from the casting process filled it up a bit. Push the pin into the hole. Connect the power cord to this product. Screw the clamp tight. Insert the product…

  • Good product for the price

  • Almost everything is fine

Weak design for the app that supports it

I installed this on my aluminum boat to use with a MK Precision charger. The idea of having this comfort is a good one. However, the supplied screws are good. They broke when screwing into a pre-drilled hole. Luckily I was able to get the rest of the screw out without moving. Second, the bracket that held the connector inside broke off. I was able to glue it back on so I hope it holds up. Finally, it seems like you have to be very careful when plugging in the cable from the outside as it feels…

Stable, high-quality, fits in and looks decent on the front of my white car.

Well done IMO. The male end of your extension cord slides into the back and is held securely in the back by a sturdy design. Very inventive. This way the pins of your male end will stick out and be accessible for the female end that you plug into the connector. I smeared a thick layer of silicone dielectric grease on the back where my pin end connects to the inside of the connector and I'm glad I have a very waterproof connector that is holding up. I mounted a white car low on its plastic…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Good but not great

WHY ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS? Mine WORKS GREAT!

Honestly, I don't understand all the negative reviews. I read all the reviews AFTER the purchase and immediately regretted it because of the many negative reviews. I had 9 minutes to order mine to receive it in 2 days and had to quickly install it over the weekend. I received it after 2 days and was very skeptical about the quality due to the negative reviews. It was VERY easy to install. It took maybe 30 minutes and that's with drilling the hole. The quality is excellent. I can see where some…

Poor design, suitable for rowing and sailing

I recently switched from a guest charger to a Minn Kota. Since the Guest/Marinco power connector was only designed to work with the Guest connector, I was forced to purchase an MK power connector. The plug in the outlet broke the first time I plugged in an extension cord. It just isn't strong enough to withstand the pressure it was designed for. I was able to "rework" the plug by wrapping black tape around it to make it big enough to hold firmly in the inlet when bolted on. A crappy solution…
