Not super thick - works great!

I bought a few different pairs of these cleats to test out as a MUCH cheaper pair of micro cleats for guests, cars etc. They're not as thick as the others I've bought, but they don't seem to impact performance in general. Worked great on a couple of ice hikes in the Dax/Catskills. Not sure about durability but good for hiking shoes, heavy leather boots and sneakers! Plus, the included zip case is a nice touch.

Good product with some failures due to user error

I made my first trip to the top of Mount Washington with these bad boys. The cats were delivered quickly and packed in a beautiful black case which is great for storage. In action I had no trouble climbing uphill and the descent problems weren't the cats fault. I slipped several times but it was on the wrong stand. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because they don't have instructions on the velcro straps or how to put them on. I dress them up using common sense, with no straps…

Lightweight, liberating and durable.

After wet snow and ice, the hiking trails nearby were treacherous. One pair each for me and my wife for free! Easy to put on and the thick elastic stays flexible in cold temperatures. Rustproof spikes and chains don't rust from road salt, but we do wash them. I've ridden mine over 20 miles and they're still sharp. I don't wear them on large paved areas, but they seem pretty tolerant of the occasional street crossing. I bought size XL for my US size 12 (Euro size 47) Lowa men's hiking shoes. My…

Recommended for winter hikers including CDT, PCT and AT fans.

A few years ago I bought a set of Micro Spikes for $50 or $60. They worked fantastic but over time I almost wore my teeth to the floor. I chose a pair as the price was very good. The teeth are more aggressive and the chain is lighter. The rubber component appears to be identical in material type and thickness. My four star rating across the board is only because I feel like I haven't owned it long enough to give it a five, I want to see how the lighter chain holds up over time. I'll edit if…

The size is right and the quality seems good.

I'll start off by not having used them since I bought them for ice fishing this winter but I've ordered three different brands of similar cats at once and compared them I'm quite impressed with them for their price. Sizing seemed right when I ordered XL and they fit my standard size 11 winter boots as well as a size 13 pac boot. The rubber is very stretchy which allows them to do this. However, the rubber is thinner than other brands I've bought which makes me a little skeptical about their…
