Rock Stable Temperatures in Engine Cooling System and Air Conditioning

In my Edge Insight CTS, the new thermostats keep my truck between 184-188. The training is good and fast. The factory thermostats failed and before that the max temp was 165F even on a hot day. Not suitable for diesel.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Much warmer in winter.

The heater was always colder than I thought. I installed this pair of thermostats and now I have 210 degrees. It's better in the cold months. Doesn't really heat up faster, but certainly gets nice and warm when it does.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Doubtful

Perfect for cold weather

They fit perfectly and work just as well as thermostats. I put these on high temp because of our cold winters, my truck had a real problem getting so warm my window wouldn't dew. I definitely noticed a difference, the truck heats up just as quickly as before but gets hotter and stays hot so my glass stays thawed. Have used it for 9 months now no problems at all.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Outdoor

So far so good: Parts

They are working great after 6000 miles winter. Installs them during full firmware. I like warmer temperatures for our northern Maine climate. I don't know if I can tell the exact difference in what's coming out of the dash vents, but I do know that they maintain a more consistent operating temperature than the factory T-Stats, and once they reach full operating temperature, they maintain it there . .

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Approximately

Everything seems to work, but made in China?

These thermostats have worked well so far. I'm concerned by the fact that I thought I was buying a very high quality Mishimoto product, but have I ever been surprised or disappointed to discover that these thermostats are made in China?! Duramax thermostats don't come cheap and aren't easy to install so it's wise to use the highest quality product and I definitely have my concerns!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

I couldn't believe how much it affected my truck.

I couldn't believe it changed my truck. My stats stuck and the truck didn't go over 140*. This caused it to stay in an open circuit, losing a lot of energy and consuming dead dinosaur juice. Extremely high quality part compared to the originals I pulled. Before buying, check the coolant line on the thermostat housing, they tend to leak. If so, grab the ring and change it while you're there. It took about a week to deflate the system and blow it out after riding until the air bubbles stopped.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Secret

Solved my heating problem!

I had trouble heating my Duramax 06 in winter. Even with the radiator closed my engine temp only rose to 158 degrees (according to my edge scanner), I'm sure I could get away with factory thermostats. I chose hotter ones so my warmth works better in winter. Installation was very easy and once I installed it, my truck hit the 180 freeway. Even in the summer, pulling a 9000 lb RV full of ATVs and a 4 person truck with the A/C on was 98 degrees. Climbing the biggest hill en route to New Hampshire,

Get a replacement if your Duramax doesn't reach operating temperature.

My 2011 LML only got 150-170F depending on ambient temperature and driving style (Coolant Temp via Edge Insight). Didn't want factory thermostats so got this Mishimoto. I'd settle for the factory temps rather than the higher ones (standard 180 and 185), but it was either those or colder ones if you get Mishimotos (174 and 170 I think). Aside from dropping the propeller, installation was fairly easy and took no more than a couple of hours. I was able to replace mine without removing the belt and

  • Brilliantly Done
Cons

Easy to change! in thermostats

Swapping two thermostats was a lot easier than I thought. If your Duramax engine isn't providing you with enough heat during the cold months, you can purchase and install these thermostats. Now, for the first time in fifteen years, I have a fever. I don't even have to put the grill lid on. If you can change your own oil, you can replace these thermostats. Now that the thermostats are opening and closing as intended, the transmission temperature stays cooler because the radiator doesn't stay hot

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Almost never
