Beautiful. 3x faster but soon beautiful. I hate using it knowing I have a $20 digital mic that's almost as accurate but slow and crappy plastic. Once that cheap micrometer fails I don't worry about changing the battery, this Mitutoyo is fast and reliable. My only complaint is that it moves sooooo fast and it's easy to rotate it, which shifts the measurement a few tenths. Just be careful with her and she will treat you well!

This is an excellent micrometer, very accurate and precise. The ratchet thimble allows you to get the right tension without interfering with your measurements. They are very well built and strong. The case they come with is basic but good enough. You must remember to lock the mechanism if you keep them as a slight change in movement will turn them back on. Although not a big problem. I use them in an industrial setting to identify non-standard parts and gaps for tight fitting cutting blades…

In my opinion: Very good! By far the largest and heaviest 0-1" mic I've ever seen, but (at least in my case) I warmed up almost immediately. I didn't feel that way with the larger thread (2mm/rev) of the quick-lift feature sure, but turned out to be a big improvement. Over 6" closed; see attached photos.
